There's a live version of a song I wanted to use in my playlist cause I consider it way better than the recorded song and one of my favorite things from said artist but they took that recording off of Spotify for some reason and it pisses me off lmao

Yeah whole tape is dope. I went to LP few years back (when the drugboy was still alive) and they did both of those songs w Mike doing the Jay parts.

Gonna see them in June too w the new singer. So happy I got to see king HOV twice.

WTT show is still the best I have ever been to, prime Kanye and Jay >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Whenever we go back to albums, I'm 100% picking Vol 3 or RD at some point. I wasn't on the forum early 2020, what did you think of A Written Testimony? I think that Hov killed a of his verses (kinda took the shine away from Jay Elec tbh)

I love that Jay wasn't credited on it (except Shiny Suit that was released years before so we knew) and it turned out to be a collab album and not just few verses.

Jay Elec did a great job but yeah Hov killed a lot. Very underappreciated I think because most people dunno Jay Z was on it so much.

    DiggleDogg69 - Everyone’s Favorite MIXTAPE

Aight so since its no album gonna keep doing TBT (this means track by track @Justin Trudeau ha ha ha) to rate each song and the rating is the average.

St Chroma - already said this is, imo, the only average song on Tylers album. I was so not looking forward to it after this, but the rest was waaay better. I do like the rap verse but the rest sounds a little too try hard to be different for me. 4/10
Thank God - not a Travis fan, but this is okay I guess. Dope production, his rapping is just never really special. 6/10
Remember Me - does Eminem has to save this? 9/10
Feel the Fiyah - not a huge Amigos or Metro fan but this isn't the typical copy/paste trap beat. I like this and Takeoff & Rocky do a good job 8/10
    ? - yeah what can I say, classic old school s--- 8/10
Bëttr Off - yeah, its just too boring and monotone for me sorry. 4/10
B.O.A - not the biggest fan but since its only a minute its fine I guess 6/10
Sunset - I like the sample, but again a little too monotone for me. Better than Yeat tho 5/10
Hey Now - FINALLY. this slapssss 9/10
Flex - yeah can't say I like this a lot but Carti w no dying dogg sounds is a win! 6/10
Great Expectations - this is nice 7/10
Come To Life - one of the few good moments of washed up preachy Kanye 8/10
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - classic 9/10
Making the Bed - dope song, one of my favs of OR tbh 8/10
Seven - I heard better, but also a lot worse, nice chill song 7/10
What are u so afraid of - whole time I was waiting for a drop.. kind of an anticlimax I guess. 5/10

Average 6,8 so very hit or miss for me, but yeah its good to hear some songs that aren't really my thing mixed w some I love so thanks @DiggleDogg69 !!

Jay Z is really hit and miss for me, I love some of his stuff than I find some of his stuff extremely boring. Definitely one of the great rappers of all time, just not always what I wanna listen too

    Diggledogg: Everyone's Favorite Mixtape Review

This is not my favorite mixtape lol but it does have some very high highs. I think maybe I'm old and don't relate to some of the newer stuff, to be honest most of those newer rappers sound like unoriginal clone like versions of one another and I find one song blends in to the next.

    Track Breakdown:

St Chroma- Really like this song, production is nice and find Tyler sounds very on point. 7/10

Thank God- One of the few Travis Songs I enjoy, had this song already saved to my liked playlist. 7/10

Remember Me? - Em and Sticky k--- this song, has always been one of my favorite Em verses on MMLP. 8/10

Feel The Fiyah- s--- rappers make a somewhat decent song. 6/10

?- So confession, I listen to a ton of music but never really listened to much MF Doom, I like this song might need to dive into the discography. 6.5/10

    Better Off- LOL . 2/10

B.O.A- if I were to pick a generic sounding song that the kids like these days, this one might get picked. 3/10

Sunset- sounds like the last song 3/10

Hey Now- Thanks Kendrick for saving me from another one of those similar sounding songs. Songs great 8/10

Flex- oh god, it's not the worst playboi Carti song so I'll be nice, still annoying though, don't even know wtf he's saying most of the time. 4/10

Great Expectations- Great Song, the live version is super cool! 7/10

Come to Life- Hallelujah!!!!! Is what I said when this embarrassment of a song ended. Kanye f---ing sucks now. 4/10

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road- Classic!!!!! 9/10

Making The Bed- She is so sexy 8/10

Seven- it's crazy people can hate on Taylor her voice is so great, folklore/evermore era to me is where her voice really caught my attention. 8.5/10

What are you so afraid of- Songs not bad, just find him a tad boring. Don't really get the hype about him 5/10

    Score: 5.6

Not to compare the two cause one is obviously more of a person than the other but Taylor has a similar problem to what I have with Drake, Drake is an okay singer and rapper but I can go to other people for better singing and better rapping. Taylors songwriting and voice (especially her voice while perfectly serviceable) don't hit for me much in the way she intends so I go to other people for what Taylor gets praised for, I do think her voice works much better in a folk context and she sounds at home with indie/folk contemporaries like Phoebe Bridgers and the like.

Maybe I need to listen to deeper cuts to get the songwriting praise.

I agree. Taylor Swift is more of a pop artist than a pure singer like Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. People like her because she makes good songs and is a well rounded, talented artist, not because she has an exceptional voice imo

I don’t mind Taylor Swift but I feel like the industry has been so oversaturated with her music… because of this her songs have been sounding like template pop/folk tunes.

Most modern pop is mind numbing to me. I really enjoyed BRAT though.
