Mar 9, 2025 70s-80s has a lot of great music. I'm gonna have a lot of fun crafting the tape over spring break (I have it a week after everyone else )
Mar 9, 2025 The Desolation of Jim Jazz Baby Criminal: i really liked this song, liked the clever intro lyrics too. Definitely added this one to my playlist. 8/10 Almost Had to Start a fight: another song I really liked, I'm sure ive heard this somewhere before but I can't remember where. 7.5/10 Jimmy Jazz: classic song, I remember my dad listening to this song back when I was a kid. 7.5/10 Alone together: another really good song, great start to this mixtape. 7/10 Born Under Punches: another song I remember from growing up, don't love it but still a solid song. 6/10 Crabs in a Bucket: i like vince but this isn't one of my favorites of his. 5.5/10 Empire ants: i find this song hard to judge, I kinda like it and I kinda don't. 5/10 Sea Ghost: i really like this song and it's not a song I'd typically enjoy. 6.5/10 Distance: another song I typically wouldn't enjoy but did 6.5/10 Teeth Like gods Shoeshine: interesting song, I don't know how i feel about it. It's kinda good but kinda weird, I like the tempo changes though. 6/10 Half Sister: I don't love this one but it's not bad either. 5/10, i think I just don't like the singers voice The calender hung itself: this songs not bad, i find "bright eyes" songs take me awhile to like. The album took me a few listens to connect more. 6/10 Trying to explain: I don't hate it but i don't really like it. 4.5/10 Empty Stomach Space cadet: another song I'm not that into but it's not terrible either. 4.5/10 Whats good: one of the only Igor songs I don't mind. 6/10 30: it's okay im not a big Danny Brown guy 5/10 96.5/160= 6/10 @AOTWClub
Mar 9, 2025 I would pop the f--- off if we ever did a 2000s playlist, the era of pop punk and emo rock that I adore right before rock in general went down the shitter
Mar 9, 2025 Maybe we could do 20th century and the next round 21st century If we stick to decades and start from the 70s it might take us a year before we reach the 2000s haha. Idk maybe have a poll with voting options. Is there a plan to switch back to albums at some point?
Mar 9, 2025 I like the 20th century idea as well, gives us more to work with (the 90s has a ton of incredible stuff)
Mar 9, 2025 My 2000’s playlist would only probably really hit if you were born in the 00’s lots of nostalgic pop music that’s probably only good to me due to the fact it’s nostalgic haha
Mar 9, 2025 If my math is right, we pick up with albums again on May 18th 2 days before the 1 year of AOTWClub, how beautiful (well, the thread was made on May 19th but we started with Cilvia Demo on the 20th. Either way still cool how it lined up!)
Mar 9, 2025 Since we're talking about including 90's, 2000's etc, we could also extend it to "songs released before the past 2 decades" so circa 2005. Most genres have plenty of releases by that point, so members can have more variety
