Jul 10, 2024 I might have to save some exclusive thoughts on the Eminem album just for this thread! The Stans in the Eminem thread won’t be able to see ALL of my thoughts on the album!!
Jul 10, 2024 There’s no way anybody will have any thoughts seen within the first 12-24 hours that album is out, this thread is the place to be IMO
Jul 11, 2024 The offspring - Americana review 8.5/10 Favorite tracks: have you ever, pretty fly (for a white guy), the kids aren’t alright, feelings, she got issues, no brakes, why don’t you get a job, Americana Least favorite tracks(if i had to choose): Pay the man, Walla Walla (decent song but this chorus gets kinda jarring for me) Loved this album, loved how it’s structured, how it flows and how it sonically captures everything great about this period in music. It is a bit tongue in cheek but I feel like, for the most part, it is a virtue that works heavily in its favor. The energetic vocals really bring these songs to a certain height, but I must say that although traditional and typical for this genre, they do not sound like they’re stuck in their ways. The band excells at keeping s--- simple and masters the basics through well structured tunes that are really catchy and energetic. This album isn’t something I’d spin too often, but next time I’m in the mood for something unapologetically fun, charismatic and true to itself, I’m definitely blasting Americana. @Justin Trudeau @AOTWClub
Jul 11, 2024 I'm redoing the schedule next week when we do the death of slim shady review, since you've contributed a few times you'll be on it

Jul 11, 2024 Why didn’t I realize that this was the band that made Pretty Fly For A White Guy until the reviews started coming in, good s---
Jul 11, 2024 Americana - The Offspring REVIEW Score: 7.5 Tracklist Ranking: Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) The Kids Aren’t Alright She’s Got Issues Have You Ever Staring At The Sun Why Don’t You Get A Job Americana The End Of The Line Walla Walla Feelings No Brakes Pay The Man Pretty Fly (Reprise) First Listen Review: I had a pretty good time with this album! There were a couple classic songs on there (Pretty Fly, The Kids) that I didn’t know came from this album or even this band, so that was a nice surprise to see on the tracklist! Especially back to back songs! Unfortunately, I feel like the quality of the album took a bit of a dip around the mid point of the album and never got back to where it was at the start. I will say, I did still like every song except for the last two. I get Reprise was just that, a reprise, but it felt kind of pointless tbh. Also, Pay The Man just didn’t hit like I thought it would, and I like long a--- rock tracks. Other than that, I don’t have many complaints about the album! Good s---! Gets you amped up, and I was already amped today (we all know why). Thanks for the pick @Justin Trudeau ! @AOTWClub My Rankings: Sling - 9.0 Cilvia Demo - 8.5 Melodrama - 8.5 When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1 - 8.0 All My Heroes Are Cornballs - 7.5 Americana - 7.5 Big Conspiracy - 7.0 MID AIR - 6.5 DiggleDogg’s Rating Average: 7.81
Jul 11, 2024 After TDOSS week, y’all need to make us listen to some a--- albums so my boys @hargydon and @lowkitz won’t be at the bottom anymore
Jul 11, 2024 Americana - The Offspring I was pretty hyped to listen to this album since I hadn’t heard about the band before and I’m always down to listen to more punk rock. Overall I really liked the singer’s voice and the instruments were pretty good too. I’ll definitely check out more from the band in the future. Favorites: Pretty Fly (For A White Guy), Walla Walla, Why Don’t You Get A Job Rating: 7/10 Sidenote: I almost didn’t get this review in before tomorrow because I live in Houston and half the city has been out of power since monday. At this point I’ll probably have to sell my soul to listen to TDOSS on release day @AOTWClub
Jul 11, 2024 @AOTWClub Favorite Tracks: Pretty Fly, The Kids Aren't Alright, Why Don't You Get A Job, Americana, Pay The Man Americana is not my first interaction with The Offspring in the slightest but it's only the 2nd full album I've heard from them iirc. Sometimes the lead singers voice can be a bit grating when he sings sometimes and the quality of engineering varies between songs but the Cali Skate punk vibes are so immaculate that it doesn't really matter too much. The guitars and drums are off the charts for most of the runtime as well. it also doesn't overstay it's welcome although Pay The Man is kinda stretching it even though I like the song. The lyrics are pretty goofy run of the mill punk stuff of the time but there's definitely highlights like The Kids Aren't Alright. I love s--- like this so I don't really have much too say other than I'm happy we're getting more into this genre cause I feel like a lot of users here would really like it if they were given albums in this lane. Good s--- @Justin Trudeau RATING 7/10
Jul 11, 2024 American Offspring. I don't usually enjoy devil music like this, but it was ok. I found it pretty generic as I do with most punk rock. I liked the first couple songs then got bored pretty quickly. At least it was a much needed testosterone boost after that sissy s--- ripper roo recommended. 6/10 @Justin Trudeau
