Jul 27, 2024 The biggest problem is the album lacks variety. If there was more switch ups I would like it a lot more. Ka is an amazing writer though, I just don’t connect to him on this album
Jul 27, 2024 I don’t mind the lack of different production styles and switches cause the thing is so short. I feel like sacrificing instrumental variety here was the right move because the whole Greek mythology concept is legitimately begging for it. Would be a different story if the album was an hour and a half long though, but, to me at least, this conciseness really ties the body of work together and rounds it out. still though, listening to nothing but Ka would be h---… I spin his records like once or twice a year because his rapping style needs dosing so it doesn’t get overbearing.
Jul 27, 2024 Different methods of reviewing too, I compartmentalized my likelihood of going back to it and just went off execution. Bet you later there's gonna be something that's dumb and gay that I'm gonna give a 9/10 because I feel like playing it a lot lol
Jul 27, 2024 my scoring's mostly based on how I feel about the albums most of the time, some people try to do it more "objectively" by scoring individual s--- like how many misses an album has, the beats, the lyrics and then getting an average out of that but I choose to just give them a score based on how it made me feel and how much I think the project hits the target for me. So I could pretty much be listening to what I KNOW is a masterpiece but if I don't feel it I won't give it a 10 and viceversa, after all I like giving them MY score instead of the score I think it should have in general It's what you were saying a couple of days ago (I think it was you) about people putting Pac in their top 5 DOA without even listening to him versus having your own personal list, he is in mine but because I love his music, not because I KNOW he has to be there.
