Jul 30, 2024 Hermit and the Recluse - Orpheus vs. the Sirens QUICK REVIEW Score: 8.5 First Listen Quick Review: Alright it’s already Tuesday afternoon and I’m late as f--- on this so just to make it easy, here’s a fast review of the album. I thought the concept was cool, the rapping was top notch, and that production was fantastic. I’ve heard a good amount about Ka recently so this album was a fantastic entry point into his music in my opinion. Had a great time listening. I like. @Justin Trudeau @AOTWClub My Rankings: Sling - 9.0 Cilvia Demo - 8.5 Melodrama - 8.5 Orpheus vs. the Sirens - 8.5 The Death Of Slim Shady - 8.5 When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1 - 8.0 All My Heroes Are Cornballs - 7.5 Americana - 7.5 Big Conspiracy - 7.0 MID AIR - 6.5 DiggleDogg’s Rating Average: 7.2

Jul 31, 2024 Gave the big krit album my first spin earlier. Really loving it so far. I need to listen again later today. I knew I’d probably like it since I also liked his 2022 solo album
Jul 31, 2024 saw Bun B & p---- C as features and that got me VERY interested, I'll check this one out tomorrow for sure not to mention the hymen checker himself, T.I. (he really is a hymen checker, look it up) still, dope rapper tho
Jul 31, 2024 BIG KRIT- 4eva is a mighty long time review Favorite Tracks: Big Bank, Subenstein, 1999, Ride wit me, Keep the Devil Off, Really really like this album, but I actually prefer "Cadillactica" over this album. Krit has that perfect southern sound, flows easily over some banging beats especially on the first disc. The first disc also has southern legends T.I., Bun B and p---- C(RIP), all 3 are artists I absolutely love. 1999 to me is smooth af, and reminds me of Krits version of "slow motion" by Juvenile and is actually kinda catchy. The one thing I've always found with Krit over some other southern rappers is he's fairly good lyrically. I forgot how much I preferred Disc 1 over Disc 2, Keep the Devil off sounds like a kanye esque track (when he was good actually good) so it's one of my favorite tracks on the album. Anyways this album to me is fairly solid, but way too long, had he cut 6-8 tracks off Here he could have a classic album. Disc 1: 8.5/10 Disc 2: 5.5/10 Overall Rating: 7/10
Jul 31, 2024 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time - Big K.R.I.T AOTW Club once again making me check out an artist that's been on my list for years. Before this, the only K.R.I.T I'd ever heard was his verse on A$AP Rocky's 1Train, (I did drive by a big graffiti mural of him once tho) so I was basically going in blind. I used to be pretty active on Hip-Hop twitter around 4 years ago, and this album was hyped immensely so there was that expectation I guess. First off, I really like how both discs have different sounds (and cover arts!!!). I'm a BIG Southern Rap fan, so the majority of my favorite songs are from disc 1. "Subenstein" is amazing and I loved the Lloyd feature on "1999" (Sidenote: The Interpolation of "Back That Azz Up" by Juvenile reminded me of the surprisingly large amount of Juvenile homages I've listened to this year. From being sampled on a song from VULTURES 1 to the "Ha" reference on TDOSS, it's almost like 400 Degreez is clamoring to be covered here). The rest of the songs were bops too (Especially that UGK feature) and I really appreciated the verses on songs like "Big K.R.I.T" and "Get Away". I really liked that Disc 2 was almost a complete switch-up soundwise from the first. I like how "Justin Scott" parallels the first disc's intro and "Keep The devil Off" is great (that horn outro was not expected but greatly appreciated.) As someone who still listens to the radio once in a while, the "Weekend" interlude was almost painfully accurate to the type of radio ads you hear on rap stations. "Miss Georgia Fornia" and especially "Bury Me In Gold" were great too, but I will say that overall I do prefer disc 1. I'll for sure be replaying songs from this record in the future and I'll check out K.R.I.T's other work (probably his early mixtapes first) Favorites: Subenstein, 1999, Justin Scott, Keep the Devil Off, Miss Georgia Fornia, Bury Me In Gold RATING: 9/10 @AOTWClub
Jul 31, 2024 Return of 4Eva is fire if you're gonna dive into his mixtapes. I confused it with this week's album when it got announced.
Jul 31, 2024 Big K.R.I.T. is a fine choice. Shoutout to that one user that put me onto him all those years ago, @Caslon
Aug 1, 2024 I did my second listen earlier. So far I think I’m liking the first disc better, there’s a lot of bangers there
