Aug 20, 2024 Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Iron Maiden QUICK REVIEW Score: 8.5 First Listen Quick Review: Iron Maiden has always been a music group that has always been in my life, but I’ve never gave the time to sit down and listen to an album of theirs in full. I’ve always just known random songs from them and their awesome a--- album covers (ESPECIALLY the first 4 albums). My dad adores this band, and was extremely happy to see me listening to this album just now, giving me multiple album and song suggestions. Anyways, I digress. I thought this album was f---ing fantastic. Insane instrument playing and vocals, just that hard a--- metal 80’s sound that I grew up in love with. I’m glad @Wreckless chose this album! Thank you man! Definitely will be bumping this album in the gym like @Yeez . @Justin Trudeau @AOTWClub My Rankings: Sling - 9.0 Cilvia Demo - 8.5 Melodrama - 8.5 Orpheus vs. the Sirens - 8.5 Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - 8.5 The Death Of Slim Shady - 8.5 Laugh Now, Cry Later - 8.0 When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1 - 8.0 All My Heroes Are Cornballs - 7.5 Americana - 7.5 Big Conspiracy - 7.0 MID AIR - 6.5 DiggleDogg’s Rating Average: 8.0
Aug 20, 2024 My dad told me he used to have this as a poster when he was younger, just thought it was badass (like every other bit of art that Iron Maiden has with their Eddie character)
Aug 20, 2024 Also, the runtimes on these classic rock albums make me laugh because there’s so little tracks but always those songs that makes the album much longer (looking at you, Pink Floyd…). For example, the title track on this album takes up nearly 25% of this albums runtime. Idk, just something to point out haha
Aug 20, 2024 You forgot the score of the album Nevermind I see an 8.5 in your list but forgot it at the top haha
Aug 20, 2024 Ah man, that's one of my favourite tracks! I saw him in concert as well years ago. I was front row and he poured tequila straight into my mouth! It was a great night Also, sorry @AOTWClub for being radio silent this week. Juggling school holidays and work is never easy. I'll try to listen to Wreckless' album tomorrow and post a quick review. Looking forward to Lil Jon though!
Aug 20, 2024 I didn’t know the democratic party of the United States was participaing in AOTW Club this week https://x.com/phil_lewis_/status/1826049067341738332?s=46&t=UcPAKOsU8Ham7VoxOl6Lrg
Aug 21, 2024 Hey Kamala, if you're reading this, recommend us an album! Whatever you do, do NOT read through the TDOSS thread...
Aug 21, 2024 Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz - Kings Of Crunk Favorite tracks: Throw It Up, Knockin' Heads Off, Push That N—— Push That H—, Nothins Free, Get Low OVERALL RATING: 7/10 Thots: This that classic Crunk sound. There’s some classic songs on here like Get Low that everybody knows. The album flow was interesting going from hype tracks to slow jams in the middle back to hype at the end. Some of the sexual tracks like Ooh Na Na Naa Naa were too hilarious to take seriously but maybe that was the point. I feel like Nothins Free did it better. I really liked Oobie’s features, she is one of the highlights of the album for me. She gave me Ariana Grande vibes. I was not a fan of Chyna Whyte’s multiple features, I just don’t like her voice. I know repetition is part of this subgenre and can elevate some songs, but I feel like this album got too repetitive which started to make me lose interest toward the middle of the album. There’s some features from legendary rappers on this though which is dope. Also, I was surprised to hear Pitbull absolutely k--- it on his song. I’ve never heard of The BME Allstars but they killed it on that last song of the album. Play No Games was nice as well but not quite one of my favorites yet. Overall it’s a good album that could’ve been better if they trimmed some of the slower songs and some of the super repetitive s--- like Diamonds. @AOTWClub
Aug 21, 2024 Pitbull’s feat surprised me a lot as well. I’d only heard his hits and he blew me away completely I’m really glad you liked BME Click. It’s a surprisingly good posse cut considering the fact that most of the rappers aren’t really well known at all. Play No Games is one of my favs actually and I’m glad it got a mention
Aug 21, 2024 It really makes me wonder about Pitbull’s earlier stuff before his more modern hits. He might have some hidden gems or something. It was a great way to end the album too. I might check out more of their stuff. Lol it’ll probably end up being one of my favs too once I give it even more listens. I really enjoy that hook
Aug 21, 2024 Alright thank you for the recommendations, I added them to my library! I see 3 Oobie features on Pitbull’s M.I.A.M.I. album so I’m especially inclined to check that out since Oobie was a highlight for me on this Lil Jon album
Aug 21, 2024 You should check out the song American War (I don’t think it’s on streaming). It’s basically a whole song of Pitbull dissing the US government over the beat to Estelle’s American Boy
Aug 21, 2024 @AOTWClub Boomer Music has claimed 2nd place Iron Maiden- 7th Son of a Seventh Son scored a 7.88 just narrowly passing Hermit and the Recluse Don't forget to review this weeks Album Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz- Kings of Crunk
