Sep 9, 2024 I've never been a fan of the mid-2010s mumble rap era and always lumped Travis Scott in with that movement. But since I’ve never actually listened to his music, now I get to see if I was unjustly calling him trash.
Sep 9, 2024 Atmosphere - When Life Give You Lemons, You Pain That s--- Gold When I heard the first song, Like The Rest Of Us, I was sure I was gonna agree with what some people said here: good writing, good storytelling, but very boring album. But then Puppets came on and it has a way more uplifting sound. Also the hook so so d--- catchy. Thank god the album barely went back to that boring sound and it has a lot of energy in it. The hooks on here are enjoyable and the production is mostly very good. Love the variety on it which is an important condition for me to enjoy a full album. I can kinda get this is not for everyone and some may find it a little boring, but with songs like Dreamer and Wild Wild Horses f---ing slap! Favorite songs: Puppets, Dreamer, Can't Break, Wild Wild Horses. Rating: 7.5/10 @AOTWClub
Sep 9, 2024 I'm not gonna listen to Rodeo as I already have dozens of times but I will give it a quick review. This all was one of the first times a trap project felt like an album instead of a mix tape. True classic of the 2010s. Oh My is still my fav trav song. Travis creates a great atmosphere on this album and the features killed it. My main criticism of this, and Travis Scott in general, is the his rapping on its own is generally mediocre, usually it's counteracted by the vibe he creates. 8/10
Sep 9, 2024 When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That s--- Gold - Atmosphere REVIEW Score: 5.0 Review: @Gimp , I'm so sorry to give you a mid score after you just gave my pick an 8, but this album just did not hit for me. I don't really even have much to say about it. The production was dope through all of the tracks at least! The album would hit better if it would just be more consistent. A big chunk of the tracks that I didn't like were because either the chorus would be dope and the verses ruined it or vice versa. Also, the delivery wasn't that great on some tracks. Like with the Bright Eyes album, I may just have to revisit this later on and see if it'll click.
