Nov 11, 2024 Lol I’m just joking… I have a busy day today but I might be able to listen to the Kiss album tonight. I find it to work much better when I get it out of the way early in the week. I’ve had my next pick locked in since my last pick lol
Nov 11, 2024 In contrast to my last two picks, I have NO idea what to pick this time around. I thought of picking Aphex Twin's ICBYD (the album my current pfp comes from) but considering its sound it would probably end up ranking next to the JPEG album automatically. All I know is that I want to choose an album that's a different genre from both KOC and Low so hopefully I come up with something good.
Nov 11, 2024 Wait, I don't pick again until next year! Alright guys thanks for the applause I'll be here all night
Nov 11, 2024 We've had discussions about both of these artists, it'll be an incredibly mainstream pick. Both albums came out this decade too
Nov 11, 2024 Can't wait to see which Nickleback album you picked! Still plenty of genres to choose from. I've actually considered picking a Daft Punk or Nero album. And a Reggae/Rap album lol.
Nov 11, 2024 Once again not them, but I f--- with them Just going down the list of guessing pop stars hahah
Nov 11, 2024 I really like all the different types of albums, I've had one album I've been sitting on for awhile. Curious what the reviews would be like for it, but not sure yall are ready for that
Nov 13, 2024 Kiss - Destroyer Favorite tracks: Detroit Rock City, King of the Night Time World, Great Expectations, Shout It Out Loud Skip(s): Sweet Pain (I guess you could technically include Rock 'N' Roll Party here too) OVERALL RATING: 7/10 To be honest the only songs I truly 100% liked are the songs that I listed as my favorites. There are songs like God of Thunder, Flaming Youth, and Do You Love Me that I partially liked. I didn’t really care for Beth but it also didn’t make me skip it on first listen like Sweet Pain did. Sweet Pain was just uninteresting to me. I was originally going to rate this a 6/10, but then I thought about how great the production is even on tracks I don’t f--- with much. There really are some classic grooves here with some complex production. Some of these songs really are timeless while at the same time it felt like I was being transported back to the 70s even though that was way before my time so I can see why a lot of people seem to view this album as a classic and the best in Kiss’s discography. While I don’t love this album, I can hear the effort put behind it and there are definitely some undeniable jams here. The songs I didn’t care for/skipped aren’t bad or anything either. Most of the lyrics aren’t particularly impressive but I think it’s more about the vibe and spirit on this album which I can totally feel. At the end of the day music is all about the feel, and at times this album feels awesome. @AOTWClub
