Nov 18, 2024 s--- like this is why I stopped paying attention to artists’ lives. I barely even watch any interviews or look at any social media posts from these artists anymore. It’s usually only about the music for me now. And honestly, it saves me a lot of wasted time trying to know people that don’t know me. Parasocial relationships can get bad. And usually these artists aren’t great people.
Nov 18, 2024 I forgot to mention the other day I could not find the brotha album on Apple Music but thankfully I found it on YouTube Music
Nov 18, 2024 It got removed a few months ago iirc. I do a little research on every album chosen here before listening and most of the stuff i could find for this record were about the AM removal
Nov 18, 2024 I know basically nothing about the KISS history, why is Ace Frehley the exception? All I know is that he and Peter Criss are named dropped in a Weezer song lmao
Nov 19, 2024 s--- are you guys gonna be able to listen to it? I just assumed it was on everything since it's on spotify
Nov 19, 2024 I found a download pretty easily on soulseek, but i feel that if we did Rare Chandeliers which was off streaming completely this shouldn’t be too different
Nov 19, 2024 I went to albumoftheyear.org to see how people felt about this album and I was shocked to see it had a pretty good score of 72 from users and 80 from critics, just considering the fact that AOTY is very critical
Nov 19, 2024 For me atleast it comes down to nostalgia, his personality and great guitar work in general. I’d say he embodies the raw energy that made Kiss stand out back when they started. He also comes across as much more laid back than the other members and feels much more authentic than they do. Also his solo work was much more interesting than that of the other guys from Kiss.
Nov 19, 2024 Brotha Lynch Hung - Mannibalector Favorite songs: Krocadil, MDK, Eating You, Something About Susan, Can I Have a Napkin?, Sweeney Todd OVERALL RATING: 7/10 d--- I’ve been handing out 7s left and right lately, I feel like IGN. Anyway, it was hard to pick favorite songs as I originally had a longer list. There were some hooks I didn’t like, and there were times where the mention of eating human meat got so excessive it almost started to feel edgy just for the sake of being edgy. I get that was the point though. Other than that the concept of the album was done well. The skits really make the album feel connected and unique. There were even some skits that made me laugh like the skit on Dead b---- or the sucking your son’s d-ck skit on Meat Cleaver. Without the humor I don’t know if this album would work as well. The beat selection is awesome, and I think what overall carries this album is Brotha Lynch Hung himself. Lynch seems like a very skilled rapper, and with a less skilled rapper an album like this could end up downright bad and cringey, but he makes it work. Other than a few songs I don’t think I’ll listen to this very often, but overall it is a good album that could’ve gone horribly wrong with a less skilled rapper at the helm. @AOTWClub
Nov 19, 2024 Some of these older BLH covers look dope as h---. Might need to check em out at some point after this one
Nov 19, 2024 Glad you didn't hate it, wasn't sure what I'd get picking it I agree sometimes it's a bit overkill but some of his lyrics are f---ing hilarious too
