    okay so I dug up some facts from the sources

    NO I.D. on the Juan Epstine podcast:

    “The 808 records came out of doing The Blueprint 3 records,” the Chicago producer told the hip-hop nerdcast. “Matter of fact, when we did ‘Heartless,’ he just stopped and said, ‘No.’ I was like, ‘No what?’ He was like, ‘No way! This is my record!’ I was like, ‘Come on man. Can we just finish the guy’s album man?’ He was like, ‘Nope. I’m doing an album.’”

    Inspiration came at a cost, though—at least for No I.D. He was the one that had to tell Jay Z that ‘Ye was dropping everything to create his own auto-tuned LP.

    “In the middle of that, we do that in about 3-4 weeks then he goes on tour and Jay Z is like, ‘What happened? Where are my... what happened?” he added. “I tell Jay, ‘Yo, man it’s gonna be hard to finish this man, you probably need to come to Hawaii man. Come on man please come out there.'”

    Jay went out and the current executive vice president of Def Jam floated him the “Death of Auto-Tune” beat and the rest is music history"

    okay so chronologically


    1. 1 Kanye heard the beat for Heartless while Jay was in the room and decided he was going to keep it for himself and create an auto tune album

    2. for context Jay goes on tour
    Start date March 22, 2008
    End date May 10, 2008

    3. June 3rd 2008 Kanye and Jeezy release put on. Objectively the closest thing to 808s before 808s is this verse on Put On

    So kanye already has the idea for 808s, heard heartless beat, and recorded a verse that show the sound has already been invented and waiting to be pieced together

    4. July 17th 2008 A Kid Named Cudi is released

    5. Kanye hears Kid Cudi's tape and calls him to invite him to work on BP3 in Hawaii


    There's no dispute that the sound and vibe of 808s was already set. Kid Cudi is the polisher of 808s not the welder. Unless you want to beef with father time there's nothing else to be said

    Yea but Take Care is definitely a great album, I can't deny that. Even if that was thanks to The Weeknd.
