Jan 13, 2016 this is crazy talk. i understand that eminem isn't that good anymore, but that doesn't matter to me, because all rappers reach that point eventually. the point is eminem's best material trumps future's. and even if you don't agree, i'm pretty confident you'd be in the minority. i mean seriously, if we randomly selected a bunch of people who listen to a lot of hip hop music and we asked them which one of these guys is better----do you really think future would get more votes?

Jan 13, 2016 i wish we could leave eminem out of these things tbh. em being included just for the sake of replies from upset stans is lame. he hasn't made a good album in over a decade and we have a far more cemented position on him considering his career is basically over, not counting when he pops up to drop random bs to keep his brand moving along. also, aside from kanye, we aren't really sure how we'll feel about the other artists in this discussion when they've had their music out there as long as em has. it's certainly possible we'll look back at some of this stuff and roll our eyes at things like we did with eminem calling britney spears r-----ed or kendrick's ridiculous lucy bs on TPAB. so without em cuz he's just irrelevent tbh, kanye, kendrick, thug, future, cole, drake. there's a pretty far seperation between the first four and last two.
Jan 13, 2016 you can use whatever method you want to get the answers. the point i was making is that unless you're asking a bunch of future groupies. i'd bet that most ppl are going to tell you that eminem was better. if we could teleport a bunch of rappers here right now, i'd bet that most of them would tell you that eminem was better. do you really think if people constructed a list of the best rappers and ranked them---that most of the lists would have future ranked higher than eminem? i seriously doubt it. and i'm saying that entirely based on the strength of their music---nothing else. here's the thing narsh. if one artist has a lot more albums than the other---then the artist with more albums obviously has a much higher chance of having albums in their discog that are not good. for example, do you really think that prince's place in music is going to dwindle because he has recorded 30 some albums and some of them are bad? of course not. he was a GOD in the 80's and because of that his place in music history is set in stone. jay-z hasn't been good in years, but my ranking for him doesn't really lower because he has done enough to retire right now (if he wanted to) and i'd still think highly of him, despite some not so good albums. and this is why ranking discographies doesn't make much sense to me. 30 album discography vs a 8 album discography doesn't make much sense to me. that's why i think going by their best material is the most effective way to rank rappers.
