The appeal on Eminem was his cartoonish imagination combined with his high level of penmanship. He crafted songs that at the time, no body else could.

But you can only listen to that type of music so many times, that's my issue with it a decade and some later.

The cool thing is that Cole, Future, Thug, Drake and Kendrick still got time to out-do each other for all we know one of them (God-forbid) might have a horrible drop-off.

    :laff:

But yeah I agree with everything you're saying about Future. He's also wrote hits for top artists like Beyonce too. But as for his personal career, I think he's a few years away from superstar status. Cole is already there.

edit: nvm we talking about discographies

Yeah it's pretty bad when Em stans ignorantly call other artists s---. But from my POV it goes both ways. @YoungDirtyBastard and @Narsh factually claim that their music taste is better because they have actually listened to rappers they don't like. I just want them to know that music taste is completely subjective.

Comparing discographies of rappers at different stages in their career is dumb. As well as not counting mixtapes. Thug is the youngest person on this list by 4 years btw.

You ranked a rapper w/ Encore, Relapse, and MMLP2 on his resume ahead of Kanye, what don't you understand? It's perfectly fine if you prefer Eminem, but it's factually wrong to rank his discog ahead of Kanye's.

yeah pacifier is a top-three thug song, probably his best pure rapping performance. it was wayyyyyy over peoples' heads to pick as a single. it's like this generation's "b.o.b.," and you need to have a history for people to give it a chance to catch on.

i don't know how good the album will be. i'm cautiously optimistic. i feel like his best solo work will be whatever he makes immediately post-300, though.
it's a top-ten rap album. probably in 6-10 range, though.
that's how it was intended, but who knows now.
