Empire State Of Mind Revival Is Trash

Kanye lost me once he dropped Yeezus, so he's probably 4th in my list. Drake & Kendrick are both interchangeble, Em could be 3rd cause he's not putting as much work into himself musically he's just cramming words at an enormous rate. the rest i don't care for as much.

How so? I mean it's my opinion.. Maybe it has to do with the idiot he's proven himself to be off the record. I just think he's a shell of his former self.. And that's no knock on him. You can't sustain that level of skill AND hunger he possessed in the early stages of his career, it's hardly ever done. Most greats have a downfall toward the end of their career

That the second verse of new slaves is one of the best he's ever rapped. Because I just think (and again, this is my opinion) he's over playing the whole concept of new slaves. It's an incredibly exaggerated concept to me. Also his flow is very redundant (same patterns that I find incredibly simple) and he half yells in parts for no reason. Also I'm not a fan of the beat so that doesn't help, not that it has much to do with his rapping I guess.

The 2nd verse isn't really overplaying the concept of the song tho. it builds on the first but is more confrontational and comes off as vicious affront to society. I don't get how the yelling is "for no reason" either lol, I feel like it's clearly what the songs been building up to. It's the climax

The concept of the song is overplayed itself. And he strays from topic to topic while just yelling random things (ex: the c-m on Hampton blouse string of lines)

I think you're misreading the track. Those lines aren't random at all.

The Hampton lines are about the corporations he's talking about right before. Its a f--- you to that entire lifestyle that feeds off minorities and the poor

I've listened to all of the mixtapes/album Future released in 2014/15 and Honest which I'm not quite a fan of. I've listened to SS1 and 2. I like Future and Thug.
