Putting tlop above those two was a hard choice for me because I grew up on those albums but all in all I’d say everything done on cd was perfected on LR (in my opinion) which is why that one was so high and TLOP holds sentimental value to me. I remember the night real friends was uploaded on the site. I remember Staying up and waiting to watch ys3. I remember the first time hearing metros drop on a studio album. I remember moving into my first apartment that year. Everything surrounding that album holds so much value to me. That and I go back to the songs on there more than the others. Graduation sounds very dated which is fine but I haven’t gone back to it in a long time because of thatOrdinary Joel, lil uzi vert stan, RetiredAccount and 1 other person like this. -

Kanye was legit the only person I could see retiring with a mostly unblemished discography. I miss feeling like that.asvdawg, Reed Richards, RetiredAccount and 1 other person like this. -

Kanye has lost it. Dude is f---ing disconnected and needs someone to tell him what to do.
This whole album is a mess. An even bigger mess than his previous albums.Ordinary Joel, J630 and WindowPane like this. -

As someone who enjoys making comps and playlists and stuff, I like the implication here that people are supposed to make their own versions of the album between:
-the vastly diff tracklists between all four listening parties, the streaming release, and deluxe release
-the different versions of tracks, Pt 2s, etc.
-the songs updates
-the STEM player
And I wish I could say this was all intentional on Kanye's part—I think it is, slightly, but the execution is poor and obviously the main factor is just classic late-period kanye sloppiness, lateness, and jumping the gun on release dates before songs are finished. I wish it was all a more explicit effort to innovate in this way, cuz the fan edit community (for kanye but also for rap in general) is HUGE and growing and tapping into that aspect of a fandom is something I haven't seen done before with an artist this big beyond officially releasing acapellas and instrumentals.
Would have been cool if he released a more concise, definitive version of the album—or like released a few playlists using songs from the album with different visions and versions of songs and sequencing and stuff. Big missed opportunity imo, would have been cool marketing to have some sort of contest or event to have fans showcase their edits/compilations/playlistsLast edited: Nov 15, 2021Ordinary Joel, Modli2 and Rodamon like this.
