Jun 30, 2020 All I said was the song is his best since Pablo (easy feat) and that I like it. The production and video are dope. The lyrics are repetitive (which is prob another indication he's continuing down the gospel rap route) and he's not dropping groundbreaking bars or anything, but I appreciate the tone of it and I think all the pieces (aside from travis scott) fit together to create something that works. I'm interested to see where the rest of the album goes after hearing it which, as a Kanye fan, is a nice change of pace because I'd had very few reasons to feel optimistic about him (both as a human being and a musical artist) the past two years lol.
Jun 30, 2020 I kinda wish he would make good normal songs again. His new way of making songs structured weird or he would follow thebsame rhyme for the entire song or all the weird s--- he does is f---ing up his legacy i blame this on yeezus success
Jun 30, 2020 It’s probably better than the last few things I’ve heard from him but that isn’t saying much. It’s all very meandering and muddled or something so I get what you mean. (And feels like he isn’t making Kanye music as much as trying to hop on current trends or something. For that reason and others it’s wild to think recent ye is better than recent em. Def hear you on the ye Stans being far far less critical on stuff like this than mtbmb..)
Jun 30, 2020 That's fair. Yeezus is my fav Kanye album so I like the more unconventional production/structure. But I would like to hear him make another more straightforward "Real Friends" like song as well.
Jun 30, 2020 I was expecting to hear some choir chops on it and more religious bars, so thank *insert name of whoever you believe in* for Kanye not doing that. It's still meh to me tho, not my vibe at all. I hope rest of the album is better.
Jun 30, 2020 Thing is I got pretty excited when travis but especially ye started rapping Such a shame it was near the end and the first 2/3 part was repetive ... but yeah glad it wasn't that preachy. Not something I'd listen more than a couple of times but it is a (small) step in the right direction.. well, away from the wrong direction at least.
Jun 30, 2020 i think koolo is being a little hysterical –– this is fine, the beat is cool, kanye i could take or leave. hard to imagine him making something genuinely exciting ever again.
Jun 30, 2020 yea idk if this is good or bad but the song and video are both very 2020 and that's the only accurate description for it
Jun 30, 2020 it's growing on me after a couple listens. I think I like it better without the video. Still upset that Travis and Kanye can't bring a collab to fruition (official release) that isn't...average. Piss on your Grave, Watch, This... Travis' version of FML and that Miley Black Skinhead remix are my favorites and those aren't even official.
Jun 30, 2020 No. This is trash. You dont have to act like your opinion is more than that, Paul. This is not fine (pretend i used a cooler font for fine)
Jun 30, 2020 I noticed he's still not swearing even though apparently the leaked demo had the n word in it? I do think in some respects this benefitted from him keeping it clean cuz there's no bad d-ck or c-m punchlines lol
Jun 30, 2020 And who does this remind you of Em fans in 2016 would light a cake if an em song didnt have a bodily fluid line in it jump in c----, the water is fine
