Feb 4, 2015 Kanye doesnt have an overrated resume MBDTF did aged ok not well and Yeezus was good not great. Its because most of the people on here s--- Kanye so much it seems like he is the best thing to happen.
Feb 4, 2015 Stop saying critics. No one gives a f--- about their opinions. Mostly they are wrong specially when it comes to Kanye. Grammy's for example. They always loved Kanye a lot. You think that guy deserves to be one of those guys with the most grammy wins ? Whatever critics never mean s---.
Feb 4, 2015 LOL Nah. Encore has more listenable songs than Yeezus does. Even the Relapse is better just because of the dope production. Real hiphop beats that i like. Yeezus is the worst on both artists' albums.
Feb 4, 2015 wow this debate is actually still going 13 pages later. narsh had you beat at least 7 pages ago @CSA
Feb 4, 2015 You know you are just talking s---. I said Black Skinhead was the only good and listenable song. Then realized Blood On The Leaves actually have parts that listenable I don't know if it makes it listenable in overall tho. You basicly changing the topic just because you don't have answer to my last question. I ain't talkin nor responding no more. Ignorant Kanye stan so mad because I say yeezus is bad lol
Feb 4, 2015 Wow this thread has really continued too long, it was on page 7-8 when I went to sleep and now it's like page 13. Not going to read all this.
Feb 4, 2015 Dude I was thinking about saying this earlier, but the debate had already been past this: you just said that yeezus was really wack and that the beats are wack for real, and that the production isn't good too. Do you really think that you made a proper explanation? Many things have been said to not only defend Yeezus, but to actually justify its position among the better records of 2013. The atmosphere it creates, Kanye's charisma is shown in every track (especially when it's combined with sarcasm like in New Slaves: "y'all throwing contracts at me, you know that n***** can't read"), the glorious ending... A well constructed experimental rap record, which shows Kanye's personality in every verse or sound effect. There are certain things that Yeezus aimed for, and it achieved them almost in full; it may not be your cup of tea, but you literally just say post after that post, that Yeezus is bad, without any valid reasoning. Come on dude. There are in depth reviews about why Yeezus is considered good but you just refuse to see the points that are made, I can't understand why. It makes you look closeminded as f--- tbh. The thread had some entertaining pages though, which is nice. Also, I don't get how Kanye is overrated. There are a few posts earlier in the thread, about how flawless his catalog is, and that he hasn't made a bad song ever, and stuff like that. I obviously disagree with this, but the amount of mediocre or even bad tracks in his career is very limited (Drunk and Hot Girls, which is a guilty pleasure of mine, the new song with Rihanna and Paul McCartney is another example, we could find a few more but these came to my mind now) but his catalog is just great. Even if we don't consider his influence in the genre, he has 3 undeniable classics in CD, LR and MBDTF, 808's and Yeezus which are both very good in their own right, and 2 very good albums in Graduation and WTT. And we're just talking about his own projects only. Can you really overrate a rapper with a catalog like this?
Feb 4, 2015 How is kanye not one of the best things to ever happen to hip hop? Im not about to review Yeezus for you again lmao. Especially when you already think it's worse than encore and relapse You're a waste of time. The fact that Em has a worse discog than Kanye literally can't be debated no, I "changed the topic" because you were commenting on an album you clearly haven't thorougly listened to you you complete and utter moron
Feb 4, 2015 Lol, yeah. The thing is that there are quite a few examples of great "technical" rappers, like Em in his prime, RA, Budden, Kendrick (even Slug in a few songs), but they actually pulled it off without sacrificing content, and always showed something: call it wit, call it creativity, and their train of thinking can be impressive. The problem is that there are even more examples (Crooked I, Relapse etc) that stack multies after multies with no continuity. They are just words that happen to rhyme, yeah, I can get a thesaurus and do it too if I work on my breath control. And because of the criticisms/hate on these empty raps, people who find them compelling seem to react by hating other rappers (especially popular ones), and for the wrong reasons most of the time! How can someone listen to Blame Game for example and consider Kanye a lesser rapper/writer? And because of that irrational "hate", people not only miss out on a great amount of good rap, but they usually view other genres with the same way. It's quite upsetting. edit: I'm using "quite" quite a lot, in order to even the score with quiet.
Feb 4, 2015 Easily. It's also my personal favourite from MBDTF, if I had to pick one. Brilliant song, too bad he couldn't sing the chorus himself though. It makes you think that he's not that good of a rapper/artist and has to rely on others.
Feb 4, 2015 Yeah man it's almost like he cares about putting out good music (no pun intended) rather doing everything by himself
Feb 4, 2015 Hold My Liquor imo is the worst song on there, by far. Blood on the leaves is amazing and so are 2 or 3 other tracks, the rest is pretty forgettable
Feb 4, 2015 After seeing the last comments of the thread, the S80 community just confirm me what i thinked: They overrate a lot Kanye here. People say that the users which criticize Kanye doesn't have arguments, but i see things like "Yeezus track > Almost every Eminem track" type of comments without fundaments. I don't want to discuss now Kanye's first material, i want to discuss Yeezus. And clearly they just don't know how to defend the record anymore. Lyrically Yeezus sucks, but most Kanye fans are good with that, which for me is ok, but when you start calling the record "GOAT" without arguments the discussion ends as a flop To have a GOAT Hip Hop record you need more than just good production. After all, is Hip Hop, we are here overall for the rapping. And is really sad that the people here doesn't give a f--- about that.
