Feb 3, 2015 Well you need to listen again. But I mean if youre approaching it with a close minded state like "if it doesnt have drums it's wack" yeah of course you're gonna think it's trash. You need to listen to the music not just hard hittin drums. If everyone thought like that, s--- would never progress.
Feb 3, 2015 I agree with your point completely. Yeezus is a good project overal but it just isn't for me. However even though it's by far my least favourite Kanye album, it proves the guy simply has no bad solo album
Feb 3, 2015 Dude I didn't have any thought before I listened to it for the first time and actually I was expecting something great just because I like the name "Yeezus". And I didn't like it by any means. The part with drums on Blood On The Leaves were great Black Skinhead is great too but I don't like music without drums mostly and Yeezus sounds like a those unsuccessful and ugly classic music compositions that nobody even listen to. If those beats even have a little melody or rhytthm that similar to Four Seasons or anything like that
Feb 3, 2015 I think with Yeezus the "experimentation" argument gets taken too far. Yes experimentation is needed and yes it definitely was something new. But experimenting and trying to be new doesn't necessarily have to equal good/enjoyable music. To me atleast Yeezus wasn't enjoyable as music, I applaud Kanye for being bold and experimenting, but the results to me weren't pleasing. And I'm far from a typical hiphop listener who needs drums and traditional s--- for a track.
Feb 3, 2015 LOL come at me tasteless Yeezy stans. Funny how you guys acting like Kanye is the goat music composer. I mean I can listen to Vivaldi, Bethoveen or Mozart all day and yes they don't really have drums on them but they have flawless melodies and rhythms. But Kanye's Yeezus is just a headache
Feb 3, 2015 Well then it's not for you, that doesnt mean it's bad or overrated. If you like s--- with hard beats and bad song writing Yeezus isn't for you there's other s--- out there for you. That simple.
Feb 3, 2015 I can listen to great beat with wack lyrics but I can't listen to bad beats. Cuz it's music at the end of the day.
Feb 3, 2015 I do think he's overrated. But I definitely prefer Kanye over the likes of Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar. His production is great.
Feb 3, 2015 Like i said just cus its not for you doesnt mean its bad. There's people that love the production on it. But i know what you mean.
Feb 3, 2015 I think it declined a little. I preferred the production earlier in his career. The Blueprint albums, College Dropout, Late Registration, etc.
Feb 3, 2015 Umm...whether you like it or not is exactly how music is judged. Music cannot be judged objectively, it will always remain subjective. Because I don't like it then to me it is bad. To you it might be good because you like it. You cannot say because one doesn't like Yeezus that he/she must like bad writing, because I find the song writing on Yeezus actually very poor. If one says he doesn't like it then it must also mean it is bad for that individual. As much as there are people saying it is good, there are people saying it is bad. So how can you really come in and say not liking the project and it being good/bad are different things? If you like it, then it is good, if you don't then it isn't good. Simple stuff.
Feb 3, 2015 You're wrong. Opinion is one thing but you can look at music objectively. Like me saying beyonce is a bad singer because i dont like her singing is blasphemous. She is a good singer, but i dont like her singing. Two completely different things, see how that works?
