    i might be on em sxn alot but i like kanye just as much if not more. i just usally discuss kanye on ktt or private group chats. i was a couple rows behind him at sunday service in atlanta at new birth

    I think that's pretty clearly what TLOP is—a confusing, manic series of ups and downs. It does bipolar better than an album that's supposedly about being bipolar.

    ye starts off as kinda a continuation of the FML/Wolves/Real Friends sound he had going, then has an almost yeezus sounding intermission then goes back into some soul samples. There's nothing wrong with switching up sonics of course—and I genuinely love most of the production—but there's not really a through-line for me here nor much of a saving grace with most of the lyrics.

    That being said I'd rather listen to ye than kamikaze any day of the week, but I think when it comes to crafting an actual album, Em had him beat that time. If ye had worked on it for more than a month that almost certainly wouldn't have been the case lol. I don't hate ye but even as a huge kanye fan I have to admit it's leagues below any of his other projects.

    As is my nature as a kanye fan I'd much rather listen to the couple good songs on ye than anything on kami but Em actually crafted a concise, cohesive album with a vision and I gotta give him that.
