Jan 1, 2015 I'm actually enjoying this more than Hey Mama tbh. I'm gonna get s--- for this, but I always hated the beat on that track. I never felt it worked with the theme he was going for. This new song is far superior IMO. The production meshes with the lyrics extremely well and the tone is set right from the beginning.
Jan 1, 2015 I'm disowning them if they can't figure out how to press play on their own after I show it to them
Jan 1, 2015 I'm a pretty big atheist, and I criticize religion all the time, but to dismiss a work of art because you don't agree with the artist's beliefs is pretty narrow minded imo... anyway, I'm loving the song so far. Very powerful and heartfelt. Is this confirmed on the album?
Jan 1, 2015 Yep. Bland is the word I used on Reddit. 100% agree with not objecting to religion full stop but there is nothing about this song that makes me want to listen to it for a 2nd time.
Jan 1, 2015 dont get me wrong, i like this song and love kanye. top 10? f--- no, not a chance, not even top 30
Jan 1, 2015 Dude you're an idiot, and the fact you have Russel Brand as your avy highlights your ignorance. The song isn't really about religion. It's about Kanye, years after his mothers death, still hoping to impress her. Music is often about the artist, and Kanye believes in God. Criticizing such a personal song like this for being religious, means you're criticizing the artist for being true to himself.
Jan 1, 2015 yeah im not religious at all but i'll listen to a rapper preach to me about god if it is written well and has everything a good song is supposed to
