Jan 4, 2015 That's not all he's doing though. He gave his late mother a platform to be just that, a mom, one last time. She slightly scolds him, reassures him and then showers him with love. And if the premise is that it's a "lullaby" as Kanye's falling asleep, then what better way to drift off than with macca's soundtrack and his moms reassurance? The way it's all worded, suggests from the start that Kanye's in an insecure state - "I know you're happy I can see it, so tell those voices inside your head to believe it"
Jan 4, 2015 Didn't have internal rhymes about taking a s---/shopping at target huh? Too much actual, relevant, meaning?
Jan 4, 2015 It's no surprise that a grown man who consistently uses the word "gay" as an insult in 2015 defends Eminem so vehemently.
Jan 4, 2015 Just cause people bash on Eminem for reasons clear as day (for some reason you're oblivious to) doesn't mean you should just invade every Kanye thread with your nonsense on why he "sucks"
Jan 4, 2015 Well you forget that it's okay for him to do that, but if anyone insults Em in the Eminem section we're trolling or stupaid because we "don't get it." This is the guy who said Paul McCartney was a combination of 1999 slim shady and 2010 DJ Khaled a few pages back.
Jan 4, 2015 To anyone who has a daughter To anyone who has a mother To anyone whose ever lost someone
Jan 4, 2015 If you're widely considered to be a moron, you should probably ease up on the sarcasm - just until people start to understand that you're actually not a complete r----- This applies to @Robot as well regarding the cartoons and cereal thing. I was gonna post it before but forgot Funny how it applies to you both tho huh
Jan 4, 2015 Yeah you're not wrong, and I get it, but I just don't see it as giving his mother the platform when in reality he's the one writing the script. I think it would have been more effective as a song, albeit less original, if it was Kanye saying he is hoping to make his Mom proud, instead of simply assuming his Mom would feel this way.
Jan 4, 2015 We can assume that everything Kanye writes from his mom's POV on this track is a reflection of what's going with him irl, right? So, like, if he has his mom say "i see that you're happy, don't let the voices in your head get to you," it's logical to assume Kanye's been happy on the surface recently, but troubled/insecure. In the same vein, he has his mom say "remember how I'd say/hey hey one day you'll be the man you always knew you could be/and if you knew how proud I was" because, in real life, he's been feeling like he hasn't accomplished enough, or whatever, recently. It's not like he's going around feeling great, and then made this song to further stroke his ego - he made it to lift himself out of whatever slump he's been in recently. At least that's how I see it. He knows he'll never actually know how his mom feels about him, or his wife, or his daughter. And that thought itself has been affecting him recently, so he made a song to combat those feelings. I get you think it's presumptuous or something…but it's his mom lol. I don't see what's wrong assuming she would, in this order, 1) tell him to realize and love what he has 2) Remember that she will love him/be proud of who he is, 3) tell his granddaughter about her. idk
