Jan 1, 2015 Whoa this took me by surprise wasn't expecting him to take this kinda direction. I like it though off the first listen, meaningful Kanye is always a good thing.
Jan 1, 2015 Can some one give me a general rundown of the song and what it sounds like? Not at a computer and won't get time to give a full listen for a couple days.
Jan 1, 2015 Simple but poignant piano melody with 808s style singing. Also Paul McCartney. Sung from his moms perspective.
Jan 1, 2015 Logged on from Hawaii cause I heard two Asian tourists talking about a new Kanye single on Waikiki Beach.. definitely was not expecting this type of track since Kanye has gone polar opposite from 808's over the past few years.
Jan 1, 2015 Look how much the presentation can change the perspective of the quality we have about something!
Jan 1, 2015 Ehh I don't think I'll download this song. . Pretty corny singing from his moms perspective. Maybe this will grow on me.*
Jan 1, 2015 Its alright. Still don't like the autotune, and I don't hear Paul McCartney, but for what it is, its not bad. EDIT: Apparently, its Paul on the keys, which is still pretty cool. I'd have much rather heard him singing the hook than an autotuned Kanye though.
Jan 1, 2015 tell norrie about me... The song just kept getting better as it went along. I wasn't sure at first, but by the times it reached the climax I was hooked, and the outro (including "tell norrie about me") is the greatest piece of music I've heard this year I'm stunned
Jan 1, 2015 Tell me this song is good bro, I'm f----- up and trust you the most with good taste in music.
Jan 1, 2015 So disappointed with this. Im not going to slander a whole unheard album based on one listen, of one song, but that was a massive anti-climax. Went to sleep (UK) knowing a new single was on the way. Then wake up to hear this soft, soppy, religious based nonsense. If I strongly don't believe in the afterlife, angels, heaven etc listening to an autotuned song from the perspective of those ideas is close to unbareable. I think of Through The Wire, Diamonds, Stronger, Love Lockdown, Power, New Slaves and Only One. This is by far the poorest first single of his. As I say, I am not ignorant enough to write-off or discredit an album without listening to it, but this song is not for me. I don't necessarily have a problem with emotional songs, but although some of you joked it moved you close to tears, this song have no emotive effect on me other than what a boring song. Tl:dr due to its autotune and concepts about the afterlife, angels and heaven, this song is not for me. Still can't wait to hear the album.
Jan 1, 2015 I want to say I exaggerated but the last portion of this song is honesty one of the greatest things I've ever heard But not to be overlooked, rich homie & young thug dropped "hold us" and it's in the running for song of the year in my book, after just like a few hours
