Feb 12, 2015 Narsh becomes a Plus Member and Kanye releases a track within 24 hours....your families gonna be so proud of you bro
Feb 12, 2015 good bro how are you? As an intro, I think it is fab. Sets the tone nicely. Whoever said this may be a very personal album, I'd have to agree it sounds that way, with Only One. Maybe we have a sum up of all the events in his life that led to him changing his sound, an account. Then some signs of something new.
Feb 12, 2015 Sounds meh. But so did the non CDQs for New Slaves and Black Skinhead and well we all know how those turned out.
Feb 12, 2015 Sounds really promising. Certainly reminded me of Yeezus but smoother. Can't wait for CDQ.
Feb 12, 2015 Just heard for the first time..wow, it sounds great I know it's not CDQ or even the full version, but there're a lot of awesome pieces in motions from what I could tell As @CharlieWork said, the best parts off the song seem to be the pieces behind the scenes, so I honestly can't wait until it drops for real Just gotta say that cashmere cat>>>> Gonna see him live again soon, and Im so happy he worked on this track. I feel like I can already kind of tell what his contribution were (he probably played a huge role regarding the songs aesthetic) As far as content, this kind of confirms what I mentioned in my only one piece -- that it's a new chapter for kanye. That song like only one was the next logical step after bound 2. That the fusion of genres makes sense when you look at the events that lead to 808s And for all intents and purposes I fee like this could be a counterpart to 808s...similar aesthetic but different emotions Also, if this is the intro to the album, and it talks about him being "too wild," etc, I'm think that it referrs to his Yeezus phase -- and now, this album will be him settling down after the Yeezus high If I'm right, I'm expecting some straight up love ballads towards the end of this album.
Feb 12, 2015 *Prays that Sia won't let Kanye create horrible music on her watch* *Presses play cautiously* Ugh. Him. Singing. Again. Please. Stop. f---ing. Stop. Kanye. You cannot sing. I don't get why anyone around him allows him to. Yes-Men abound. Ok, let's discuss the music. This is reminiscent of Late Registration/Graduation era production. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a Jon Brion vault item. I dig it. The strings remind me of the opening to "Be". They might be from the same kit tbh.
Feb 12, 2015 It sounds alot better on that instagram video. Kanye sounds alot like Drake on it though.
Feb 12, 2015 A rapper unveiling music at a fashion event makes me uneasy. Like those videos of Chuck Berry playing for exclusively white audiences. Like an oddity. Those textures that show up right around the time when it gets muffled are interesting. As well the teasing of a more lush beat built around the same structure. I think working with Rick Rubin really helped him become more conservative. Used sparingly, good things become great. @Narsh
Feb 12, 2015 Ye knows he can't sing from a traditional pov That's why he manipulates his voice when he tries -- uses it more like an instrument, and usually it works for the aesthetic he's going for I think it sounds pretty awesome here as usual
Feb 12, 2015 Yeezy barely knows how to sing in the traditional sense (holding and hitting notes) but he has real personality and emotion behind his voice which is all i care about....
Feb 12, 2015 I think the cycle of Ye dropping a weedplate, then a subsequent classic is over. Yeezus was horrific, but if Cruel Summer was any indication, this is going to be really, really bad. Not even Sia can save this x_x
