It’s safe to say his clothing is nothing short of fine art. A Picasso painting, The Old Guitarist, inspired the Paul McCartney song that Kanye interpolated on “All Day.” As these lines progress, the subject seems to change from Picasso to the notorious drug lord, Pablo Escobar. In the early 90s, Escobar built his own prison to serve a 5 year sentence. The “prison” wasn’t really a prison: it featured amenities such as a full soccer field, a bar, and a waterfall, and his friends and family were welcome any time to visit and party. Similarly, Kanye and Kim’s Bel Air Mansion underwent major renovations including, but not limited to a movie theater, hair and makeup salon, and basketball court (swish!) prior to being listed for $20 million. With those amenities, there’s no need to go out. Alternatively, it could refer to world-renowned poet/diplomat Pablo Neruda. Late in his life, hedesigned three famous houses, which currently serve as museums dedicated to Neruda. Like Pablo, Kanye sees himself as someone who excels in many fields: fashion, music, art, and evenpolitics. Although “NMPILA” didn’t make the cut, this lyric was most likely the inspiration for the title of Kanye’s 7th studio album, The Life of Pablo,successfully making the title an impressive triple-entendre.
