Oh, his illness is undoubtedly addressed/fueling this entire thing. This and TLOP being kind of incoherent and spotty makes complete sense coming from a manic mind.

But it's not just the intro when you're talking about his mindset. There's the line about not taking advice from people less successful, the repeated embrace of substances despite the known toll of his abuse, etc. The album leaves off on Violent Crimes which embraces a childlike absence of responsibility/accountability that he can co-opt. So while you can chalk up some of the quirks of this album to his disorder, I still don't find it to be a healthy response to any of the stuff he's talked about. He seems more empowered than ever to be volatile.

He makes some sweet gestures on Violent Crimes though. I feel like I need to spell out the things I like so people stop nagging me for focusing on the pathological elements I find worrying lol. Sonically this thing is great ofc. Despite some of the tracks kind of sputtering to a close. I like the aesthetic.

Because criticism is interesting and exciting. It's only "negative" because the material in question is pretty worrying.

I've listened to this album like 4 times already. If I hated it, why would I do that? lol

Ehh the more I listen might only buy yikes and ghost town. Idk if I could get into the other tracks from what I heard in the snippets. Very underwhelming album, but I wasn’t expecting some masterpiece either. A little worried if Kayne thinks this 7 track project is amazing. Surprised he didn’t have more material.

I feel like this is gonna be an album that grows on people like crazy and they grow to love it.

I loved it alot more on repeated listens then the first time.
