JESUS f---ing CHRIST. What are you c---- scared of, my differing opinion?

reply to the post or @ me next time you p---- bois.

And again. GKMC isn't the black sheep of his discography, because there's mountains of music in his discography that reflects the sounds/themes on GKMC. There's more music relating to S.80/GKMC than there is for TPAB. The only thing that makes TPAB similar to S.80 is some jazz samples.

Been listening to kendrick ever since he dropped training day, and s80 has a lot more in common with tpab than gkmc.

btqw, andreas halle wrote a nice article on it (can't remember the name of the magazine) and explained why everybody should have known that tpab was the next step for kendrick.

s80 is a lot like tpab, with a difference subject matter. Sure it doesn't have all these jazz layers, it was more basic in terms of jazz, but the idea was already there.

TPab put me on kendrick, and his fans told me to listen to his old work as well and they were right, I really f--- with his old projects as they remind me of tpab a lot... can't say the same about gkmc.

Anybody trying to tell you gkmc ain't the album that differs the most from his other project is just rewriting the history. It was a hot debate when gkmc came out, people were basically telling the kendrick fans to stop crying and give gkmc a chance even though it was very, very different from his other projects.

The album has a lot of east coast influences, A LOT. s80 & tpab define him more as a west coast rapper as they're both featuring musical genres that have influenced the original west coast sound.

as far as I'm concerned, it was a hot debate when gkmc came out, people were basically telling the kendrick fans to stop crying and give gkmc a chance even though it was very, very different from his other projects.

the kendrick fans don't have to rpove you anything, you're the one who has to prove why gkmc ain't the black sheep and you haven't made any good argument.

Lol, just because kendrick is dealing with similiar topics in both gkmc & s80 doesn't mean gkmc isn't a left from him.

Kendrick showcases the same musical elements in almost all his projects, the only exception is gkmc.
As for tpab having a different subject matter, well, that's what you would expect from any rapper, you don't want them to rap about the same s--- every time.

    I remember this :mjcry:

They were all like "nah, gkmc is too mainstream, we want more jazz, we want kendrick to keep making kendrick music and not compromise or dumb it down for the masses"

I always thought gkmc was better than s80, but most of them kendrick fans just didn't want to give gkmc a chance because it wasn't what you would have expected from a kendrick lamar album.

I gave reasoning before and everyone just said "lol nah ur wrong i wont give u a reason though cause im a blind stan lol" But thanks for a decent reply. Says mountains about Kendrick stans, when a guy with an Eminem avatar is posting better.
GKMC discusses Kendrick's life growing up in Compton and some experiences which shaped him as well as delving into the problems with today's youth, peer pressure, his city etc...

S.80 for the most part is like a breakdown of Kendrick's generation and flaws, from his perspective. Along with their flaws and flaws of the city he's from

TPAB is a racially motivated album, that's polarising and breifly touches on Kendrick's emotions/experiences. Rarely does it go into anything relating to Kendricks generation apart from #blacklivesmatter related content.
