Jan 5, 2016 yep, all of this. and like pixel said on the 2nd page, it was quite clear to everybody that kendrick was gonna drop a tpab in his catalog. The only album that really doesn't sound like a kendrick album is GKMC. Sure he talked about it before as well but musically, he probably compromised a bit as it was his first major album.

Jan 5, 2016 the themes and real-world events on TPAB were from the past year or two, yet you think he planned the entire album before GKMC? SO he predicted s--- like, Mike Brown getting shot and that he'd make a song about it on the album? you guys are mental. I'm just saying there is no f---ing way in the world, he could of. Unless you're trying to say he foresaw/planned an album coming that had jazz influences and wasn't radio friendly? then yeah, maybe he planned that. Don't even go into this jazz/funk history s---. I probably heard of Kendrick before all of you.
Jan 5, 2016 I'm pretty sure they're talking about the music. I also remember kendrick talking about how he wanted to drop tpab or a jazz/funk/soul influenced hip hop album addressing these issues later in his career. I'm pretty sure he wanted to rap about all this because this isn't something new, but what happened in in his life after gkmc & the US in 2014 probably motivated him to make this sooner than expected. There's no doubt that he probably had to change some of the lyrics... This is no different than GKMC, I heard that he was already talking about it in 2007 but we both know the album we got in 2012 isn't the one he started working on in 2007. Jan 5, 2016 This is sort of what I'm getting at, there's no way an album was planned start to finish prior to GKMC, but a general idea and loose concept? yes. Totally agree, that the US in 2014 may have motivated to him release the album, but just as likely influenced him to change it as well.
