Mar 28, 2017 Kendrick hasn't lost any of his skill from TPAB like Eminem did from TES to Encore. You could tell Eminem was heading downhill by late 2003 with his features, and this was only confirmed by the majority of his verses on D12 World being garbage.
Mar 28, 2017 Only see hate for it on this forum tbh lol Most people hate on it because they get tired of people praising it continuously and I understand that.
Mar 28, 2017 Thats why i said "some people" at the time of release, it was getting 10/10 from 8 out of 10 people. But cue a couple weeks after the release and people were like, "this album has no replay value!"
Mar 28, 2017 I liked it when it came out, I listened to it for about a month and that was it. Got boring quick. I don't hate it although I think it's incredibly overrated. There are still a few songs I can listen to like Wesley's Theory, Hood Politics, and These Walls. EDIT: and the 2nd half of U.
Mar 28, 2017 future adapted rly well on smoke break & quavo ALWAYS adapts when he features on other n-----'s music
Mar 28, 2017 If the beats are bangers like they say n he's not too preachy my hypebeast a--- might enjoy this album
Mar 28, 2017 Thats not exactly the same kind of thing Smoke Break was still a trap beat, so its not totally out of Futures comfort zone, its not like he's jumping on boom bap features. Save with Quavo, he may jump on colorful and unique production, but its still trap production. Its not anything too out of the ordinary. I think the most unique thing i've heard Quavo and Offset on was "Slide", that sounded different for them.
Mar 28, 2017 I hate to play the "it's not a mainstream sounding album, that's why you don't like it" card but I think that's also what is kind of happening here with TPAB as well. A vast majority of posters here love southern hip-hop that's grown so popular over the years (I do too). I think because of that, TPAB is so staunchly different, a lot of posters here don't know what to do with it. It's not like a future or young thug project where you can listen to it in almost any setting. It's an album that demands attention and I'll even admit, a lot of the times I don't want to have to focus so much on music to have to enjoy it. I don't think that takes away from the project though because it accomplished what it was suppose to be for the most part.
Mar 28, 2017 Not exactly true either. Cuz those same people who love "southern production" to death were calling Danny Brown and A Tribe Called Quests projects from 2016 fantastic. And those albums were not the "southern" sound at all. Some people just didn't like TPAB. Yea some people overhate on it to get a rise out of Kendrick stans, but most of them just dont care for it.
