Dec 1, 2015 Yo have you noticed on forums we discuss every aspect of the music except how the end product actually sounds? "I can't appreciate the music because the man who made it was a d-ck once"
Dec 1, 2015 I've been saying it for months. TPAB is without a doubt one of the greatest albums across any genre. When speaking about it in terms of rap if you don't like this style of instrumentation which is jazz funk your going to have a hard time listening for enjoyment as the style of the beats just don't meet the "mainstream" or rap listeners overall. If you are like myself and like the jazz funk style of beats this album is without a doubt a top tier album for you. No one can take away the lyrics and the message the album provokes and that alone should make the average rap listener understand the greatness within TPAB. Saying you don't like the album because of the beats is totally understandable it's a very unique sound that isn't for everyone but that's the 2pac and Outkast influence Kendrick has. You must come to terms that though the beats are not what you typically listen to the structure and writing on the album is on a caliber 99% of song writers can never match. Props for Kendrick
Dec 1, 2015 I agree that TPAB is top tier, and saying it's the best is a reasonable choice, but nah most of the time they're off as all h---
Dec 1, 2015 im not educated enough to say whether tpab is the best album of the year although i preferred compton and documentary... i will say, making lists like this are inherently a statement about whats popular and whats artistically forward thinking. with that in mind, this is an obvious choice... but also somewhat bold. knowing its RS and where their seat at the table is, much prefer this be picked over IYARTITL edit: Father John Misty 'I Love You, Honeybear' is the best album of the year
Dec 1, 2015 I disagree with Drake and Kendrick being in the top 3 but it's nice to see The Arcs and Jason Isbell crack their top 10.
