    Herbie?? for real???? Good news. His die hard fans wanted him to make another s80 or tpab type album and it looks like we could get that

    Why do I love O.D. & TPAB but f---ing hate GKMC, EP & boring a--- s80? Where are them n----s who told me I was gonna love section 80? f---ing liars

    thats weird though, usually people who really love tpab also enjoy s80 and vice versa. What don't you like about it?

    I can understand you not enjoying EP though, he was still trying to find his own style imo

    Yeah that's true, hella looks like he wants to stay in that lane at the moment.

    I do agree in that he can definitely do well over jazzy production & that it brings out some of the best in him. But, i also wanna see what else he can do, what other sounds he can work with or experiment with, what else might bring the best out of him. But yeah, for now, i'll probably just have to come to terms with the fact that he'll be stickin with this aesthetic & subject matter for a while, even though i'm personally gettin a lil tired of it.

    I don't think he gonna stick with this subject matter though... he seems to talk about something different in pretty much every album.

    With that being said, I have a feeling that everything is related to section 80

    -S80 is IMO, the story of a generation (our generation?)... it's also him saying "f--- your ethnicity"
    -gkmc is his story (as a young kid from compton). At this point hes just trying to introduce himself to the mainstream because you can't send a message if nobody knows you and he's probably still thinking that we have to accept everybody, no matter who you are.
    -tpab is pretty much what happened to him after GKMC (Africa, his homies getting killed, etc). He still thinks we have to accept everybody but for some reason, kendrick came to the conclusion that you have to accept yourself first before accepting other people... like it starts from the inside... he starts with his own community. And the entire album was influenced by music genres of the African diaspora.

    Call me crazy but I think its going full circle, I can see kendrick dropping a "f--- your ethnicity" album featuring elements of almost every genre... it's gonna be a "human" album :sweatt:

    I sure wouldn't mind him doing something different subject matter wise, the ultra conscious political s--- is alright, but also suuuuper polarizing & mood specific, it's a heavy listen, i want some more...idk digestible/easier listen type of subject matter from him.
    Huh, compelling theory, good observations. It could tie in, that be pretty cool.
    :cp3: that would make a hella dope album.

    yeah but I dont' think he gonna make a political album this time. He also said tpab was supposed to be his 4th or 5th major album or something like that :khaled:

    What happened in america in 14/15 probably motivated him to release it as his sophomore (studio albums) and it probably influenced him to change the content a lil bit

    ironically my least favourite kendrick project is OD and my favourite is GKMC

    i dont get how you can love TPAB but hate GKMC tho
