Dec 31, 2015 While listening to For Sale? I almost forgot how cringeworthy the whole Lucy concept was
Dec 31, 2015 and i commented on this in my track by track review of the album back in the month that it dropped. lmao Perry is a creep man, he's literally OBSESSED with paul
Dec 31, 2015 Classic Narsh reply to a post that goes too far over your head. You're so stupid it hurts. Kendrick is a straight man, so he'll lust for women. If he was a gay man or a straight women then he'd lust after men. That doesn't mean he hates women. Now go ride the short bus home. EDIT: This doesn't even make sense.
Dec 31, 2015 What..... Why are you clarifying something that didn't need clarification? Lol if you think a song sounds "forced" that can only mean one thing. "u" is the complete opposite of forced. It's honest, depressing, heavy, dark. It's Kendrick at his lowest point.
Dec 31, 2015 Alright, since I can't convince you with words, let me do it with music Literally the same concept executed flawlessly Compare Kendrick's voice and emotion in this track with u
Dec 31, 2015 Kendrick's issues with woman have been made clear since Section 80. His portrayal of woman is no different from what Atmosphere has done, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift etc. Also, I never said that's what you said. I said "IF you go full WPG on us" because you were certainly heading down that road.
Dec 31, 2015 I don't think it's the same as slug at all. Slug adds dimensions to his characters, that's what I don't see from Kendrick
Dec 31, 2015 I was joking around earlier but I think he just shows women as a vice, and they absolutely can be. It's not painting a gender so much.
Dec 31, 2015 But.... It's not the same concept. The subject matter is similar but the concept isn't the same. "u" is Kendrick rapping his self-hating thoughts out loud. "His Pain" is Kendrick rapping about the hardships of the environment he lives in and how despite those hardships he keeps getting blessed. Also, posting that song doesn't explain how "u" is forced at all.
Dec 31, 2015 I'm not critiquing him for doing that, I'm critiquing his execution. It's a go to crutch from him in his writing -- one that he seems content in not developing any further (from ep/od to gkmc to tpab...its been the same)
Dec 31, 2015 I didn't meant that... With "concept" I'm talking about how both songs are honest, depressing, heavy, dark, etc. and have Kendrick almost crying in pain The difference is that His Pain feels a lot more smoother and powerful at the same time Kendrick is crying, yes, but the emotion feels genuine and he's not overdoing it u is a song with GREAT ideas and a mediocre execution
Dec 31, 2015 Bruh. Listen to how he says s--- in the song the dramatic voice is forced. He doesn't sound like that when he cries i bet. Its forced. Ya feel me?
