    Week 3

    Day 2: Blow My High

Look at my life then look at yours
Get some ambition, why you bored?

Welcome to Week 3 Day 2 of Kendrick SOTD, This may be one of the shortest SOTD I may have done. Today we listening to “Blow My High” a song of Kendrick's debut album Section.80
Kendrick pays a tribute to Left Eye, p---- C and Aaliyah in this song.

The first voice in this song you hear is a slowed down p---- C sample from the song Big Pimpin being used as hook. Kendrick raps over this and it is just the smoothest s--- ever.

Smoking out, pouring up, keep that lean up in my cup
All my car got leather and wood in my hood we call it buck
Everybody wanna ball, holla at broads at the mall
If he up, watch him fall, I can't f--- with y'all
    (p---- a--- ho n----s) I can't f--- with y'all
    (b------s all up in my business) I can't f--- with y'all
    (Industry of counterfeits) I can't f--- with y'all

The song actually sounds pretty short, but it is a very relaxing experience. Kendrick gives two short verses that just sound amazing. Kendrick’s voice carries a sense of calmness that has a perfect chemistry with the instrumental, the song really has no flaws whatsoever.

The song ends with an Aaliyah sample from “4 page letter”

    RIP Aaliyah :hovcry:

    Fresh Kendrick Verse
    'Easy Bake'

Suitcase full of merchandise, that's my new plan
This my new wave, this my new tan
This my summer days in the tropics by the cool sand

Thought I would do something different. Any time a new Kendrick Lamar verse leaks I will post it here to keep people updated with Kendrick Lamar. Anyway this time I’m uploading Kendrick’s verse on Jay Rock’s upcoming album. This leaked a few days ago however we did not get the full version of the song, until today. Kendrick did not spit any more bars that we got from the previous leak and he has a very short verse, but It’s new Kendrick and still a great song.

EDIT: I will still be posting Kendrick Lamar SOTD

Track 7 of C4, a mixtape that shows a lot of Lil Wayne influence. The opening of this track is nothing but spectacular; Kendrick's delivery carries so much aggression and gets darker by the second it honestly sounds like Kendrick is a ray gun charging up 'rat tat tat tat tat' after this Kendrick just explodes; Kendrick is just plain disrespectful on the first 25 seconds of this track, the amount of time I re-winded the opening is just unnecessary.

Rappers scared, they walk in the booth
With a bible and a reverend

There are so many quotable in this track; This is a essential Kendrick song and if you have never heard Kendrick I would start here.

This concludes Week 1 of Kendrick SOTD

Kendrick is also paying homage to Andre on that song... the song is highly influenced by A Day In The Life Of Ben

We try to get them to you in a timely manner too, but that doesn't always happen.

Thank you for being understanding. Just don't forget the thread and keep checking back.

    I promise I'll keep making SOTD's as long as SXN80 is here :cool2: .

Cheers man. I tried to be a little different as well. These threads are good for the Artists SXNs when there's no news about them.

One thing I like about Kendrick Lamar is his ability to put you in his shoes. very difficult to do within 16 bars and still make it sound clever. But Kendrick is able to do this flawlessly, especially in this song.

    MTY VERY SHALLOW LISTENING

My personal song of the year. The track is insanely powerful in its depiction of depression where Kendrick really takes it to the ultimate extreme. The representation of his depression being his alcoholic conscious is such a great idea and its executed so well in the track.

This is such a great analysis and breakdown of the song.

"u" has so much raw emotion in it. It's ridiculously creative too. TPAB is so special.
