Let me start by saying ...BJ's voice was perfect for this song...it is so smooth and I love how he harmonized with the beat.
On to the verses...
I really like the lyrics.. they're not complex to understand but the meaning is so deep....
I mean you don't even have to be religious or spiritual to understand faith and the struggle religious people go through when they feel like God has abandoned them
Its simply just believing in yourself, for those who aren't religious.
But I find it cool how he can tell his story, and someone else's story in a couple of bars...like you don't even need to know the person to understand the struggle goin on in their life. This is what makes Kendrick so real and down to earth as an artist to me, the fact that he can capture that emotion with his words and he doesn't even have to be talking about himself.Ordinary Joel, Jakey and Jehovah like this. -

Special
Day 5: 1Train
I carry traits of a traumatized soldier
Don't look in my face, I might snap, I might choke ya
Decided to pick a song Kendrick features on every 5 songs. This day we will be looking at 1train, a track of
A$AP Rockys L.L.A.
One of the Kendrick verses where he spits like he is possessed, this may be one of my favorite Kendrick verse of all time. Kendick's delivery gets more fierce and demonic every bar to the point that at the end of his verse it sounds like he is actually considering jumping of a cliff.
Even if you are not a fan of Kendrick, I recommend you listen to this track as almost every artist in this track had a memorable verse

Day 4: The Art of Peer Pressure
Rush a n----- quick and then we laugh about it
That’s ironic ‘cause I’ve never been violent, until I’m with the homies
Choosing a more known track this time straight from GKMC. One of my more favourable Kendrick Songs having a place in my top 10, a song that really showcases Kendrick’s narrative skills. Kendrick really starts painting the Mona Lisa in this song detailing everything as he spits a vivid story of the mission he is about to proceed on.

‘So what's a kid to do, when your fresh out of school and the negatives of the world constantly following you?’
A Track of the XXL 2011’S Freshman Class: The Mixtape. Another Kendrick song with a catchy hook and smooth delivery.
There was a funny phase in my life when i first started listening to Hip-Hop, i used to listen to struggle raps by Tyga; I had all his Well Done Mixtapes downloaded on my phone. This is the first Kendrick Lamar song I ever heard, when I heard this I knew it was time to get my s--- right.
