Aug 19, 2015 Just like Hollywood, there are no original threads. Only remakes my niggle. Good thread though regardless.
Aug 19, 2015 im just waiting for another SOTD thread to be as impressive as the OG tbh...jet tried (or is still trying, idk) with ab soul..kendrick definitely has the potential to get there tho especially if u count features but in the end, thug thread will always be bigger as long as i dont stop cuz he has quadruple the discog
Aug 19, 2015 There's literally no bad song from Kendrick so this thread will be easy to extend though
Aug 20, 2015 Day 2 ‘So what's a kid to do, when your fresh out of school and the negatives of the world constantly following you?’ A Track of the XXL 2011’S Freshman Class: The Mixtape. Another Kendrick song with a catchy hook and smooth delivery. There was a funny phase in my life when i first started listening to Hip-Hop, i used to listen to struggle raps by Tyga; I had all his Well Done Mixtapes downloaded on my phone. This is the first Kendrick Lamar song I ever heard, when I heard this I knew it was time to get my s--- right.
Aug 21, 2015 Day 3: War is My Love ‘Wake up in the morning and I gotta win Not taking the victory, that's my only sin’ A track made for the video game Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. It’s like this instrumental was built for Kendrick. The way Kendrick flows with the song is breath-taking. There is not one thing in this song that is not enjoyable. Honestly a song that needs to be in every one of you Kendrick playlists.
Aug 21, 2015 Would love a Kendrick album with songs more similar to War is my Love. He doesn't really use beats llke that on his albums.
Aug 21, 2015 Yes, I actually forgot about about not tagging the group. I usually type everything up in a document file the day before then copy-paste here. Sorry man
Aug 22, 2015 Day 4: The Art of Peer Pressure Rush a n----- quick and then we laugh about it That’s ironic ‘cause I’ve never been violent, until I’m with the homies Choosing a more known track this time straight from GKMC. One of my more favourable Kendrick Songs having a place in my top 10, a song that really showcases Kendrick’s narrative skills. Kendrick really starts painting the Mona Lisa in this song detailing everything as he spits a vivid story of the mission he is about to proceed on.
Aug 23, 2015 Special Day 5: 1Train I carry traits of a traumatized soldier Don't look in my face, I might snap, I might choke ya Decided to pick a song Kendrick features on every 5 songs. This day we will be looking at 1train, a track of A$AP Rockys L.L.A. One of the Kendrick verses where he spits like he is possessed, this may be one of my favorite Kendrick verse of all time. Kendick's delivery gets more fierce and demonic every bar to the point that at the end of his verse it sounds like he is actually considering jumping of a cliff. Even if you are not a fan of Kendrick, I recommend you listen to this track as almost every artist in this track had a memorable verse
Aug 24, 2015 Day 6: P&P 1.5 You gon make me flip and split yo s--- judge give me life, n----- Pain since my grandma's death, Uncle killed at Louie's Burgers Hold my tears I tried my best, let it go, drenched my pullover
Aug 25, 2015 Day 7: Phone Home Go against me, that'll lead to my advantage Because I've got to eat And for real I'm feeling kind of famished Track 7 of C4, a mixtape that shows a lot of Lil Wayne influence. The opening of this track is nothing but spectacular; Kendrick's delivery carries so much aggression and gets darker by the second it honestly sounds like Kendrick is a ray gun charging up 'rat tat tat tat tat' after this Kendrick just explodes; Kendrick is just plain disrespectful on the first 25 seconds of this track, the amount of time I re-winded the opening is just unnecessary. Rappers scared, they walk in the booth With a bible and a reverend There are so many quotable in this track; This is a essential Kendrick song and if you have never heard Kendrick I would start here. This concludes Week 1 of Kendrick SOTD @KendrickSXN
