Feb 10, 2015 It's a good song, mainly because of the atmosphere and production, but I don't get where Kendrick's head is at right now. The writing on this kind of s--- is SO much more simpler/straightforward than what he's done in the past
Feb 10, 2015 People out here complaining about Kendrick saying stuff like how the black community doesn't respect themselves, but then listen to this and be like "d--- this track is fire" and don't understand the lyrics.
Feb 10, 2015 Great song. The hook could be better. I think the album will be released this month maybe go up against Big Sean.
Feb 10, 2015 this is simply flawless, Kendrick will go down on history. this rate he can reach 1 mill sales first week easily
Feb 10, 2015 I cosign this post. People are gonna love it as much as the critics, but there's somethin in this song what makes you feel a bit overwhelmed. Kendrick spits a lot of bars, but certain part of them are too straightforward. The second verse, well it's just there. I don't think it adds anything to the song. The beat and delivery make this song very agressive, but in fact it only hides the simplicity of the lyrics. That's why people think Kendrick raps only god knows how hard bars.
Feb 10, 2015 I've replayed a few hours after it dropped and it's still fire. The agressive delivery makes this track outstanding while the production stays mainly simple in a good way (especially the drums are kicking in). Nevertheless, I will stop listening to this after a few more spins, I don't want to over-play it before the album drops.
Feb 10, 2015 What I get from the song is that he wants us to think about the whole situation about blacks and whites. That there's a month and that kinda stuff while it shouldn't be normal that there has to be a month for blacks. They should be 'normal' if whites say that being white is normal and black not. He just attacks the way of thinking about the whole idea of differences between black and white. And that from other views to.Although he says it more straightforward doesn't mean the track isn't something to think about. I think it's a great song, directly to the people so some people will understand it faster. Also it fits really good with the beat and the message is straight what people from different sides think.
Feb 10, 2015 Ain't a song for the clubs, garbage.... Five listens, still amazing. I need the full album asap
Feb 10, 2015 Smartest thing about this song is that it's really got people DISCUSSING the situation, whether you agree with his opinion or not people are seriously talking about it thanks to this song This is more than music
Feb 10, 2015 I agree with all of this... there's a reason I didn't think this was straight up AMAZING and you expressed it perfectly. Some of the lines are way too straightforward, I prefer something like the Untitled song where it has layers of nuance. For me, this song doesn't really have that til the end. Still a great song though, and that last line is really powerful.
