I'm actually really tired of people using the last verse of TBTB to disregard everything else he said at the start of the song. TBTB is still a black anthem and he meant every word leading up to that last verse. The point of the last verse was to acknowledge that all of the corruption he spoke of leading to it has also had a negative effect on him even though he's very aware of the world he lives in. People are confusing that last verse with Don Lemon-like respectability politics.

This is why i feel like no matter what this album will be SO misunderstood.

In order to achieve genuine equality you have to be willing to acknowledge the truth, and the truth is that we leave in a world built on white supremacy. Pro-Black does not equate to anti-white or anti-equality. It's simply recognizing an undeniable truth & calling for change. Glazing over issues with all that "we all bleed red" sh*t solves absolutely nothing. Talk about an issue long enough for it to change instead of trying to run from it.

Of course he won't be black & white with the message.. there are so many layers to the African American experience. He tackled multiple with Untitled & TBTB alone.

TBTB was very clearly just verses from different context/POVs -- like, at separate times, he was talking to himself, society, and the black community as a whole. And it was all tied together by the idea that in order for real change to occur, we need to reflect on our selves first and stop being hypocritical.

album of the decade possible that this will be the best album ever.This will be the album that makes Kendrick a rap god. I have been watching Kendrick for nearly a decade, to watch him go from a know name kid on a Dj skee mistake to the king of hip hop... wow, just wow.

will he? probably not. Can he? Yes!... I have been saying for years Kendrick would run rap and I was right. I was one of the first 10 people to download training day when it dropped. Its been a he'll of a ride.
