Kendrick didn't have a lot of money when he was Jay Rock's hype man and Steve Lobel (famous music manager in Hip Hop) recounts buying him pizza when he was on tour.

Cole didn't know about TDE, and inquired about signing Kendrick to his label on first listen.

You could also mention his brief stint with Def Jam as KDot

After reading the last few pages. I feel sometimes people think that when a song has alot of lyrics & a fast flow thats it better than a shorter song with not alot of lyrics & a slower flow. Quality>>> Quantity.

It's not, and they are similar, but only to an extent. They're complety different songs. Kendricks was meant to be meditative and serene, kanye's an assault - aggressive, direct and confrontational. New slaves also covers more than just vanity. If anything, I think killer mike, on run the jewes 1 that same year, said it better than all of new slaves in just 4 bars:

I still believe their message is pretty much the same, i dont think kanye covered more than kenny personally, but yeah their energy is totally different,
And i agree mike did it better, but the industry and how it works is something that mike is a beast at decoding
