2 of those 3 had Aftermath/Dre behind them.
Kendrick has the right people working in the background to make it happen.

You are r-----ed to think its a given he sells a mill first week. The projections as of yet is 500k first week. Without a legendary promo run and multiple banging singles, no way he doubles peojections. Last Eminem solo had a big promo run and only did like 850k first week of I recall.

Dude, stop bringing up MMLP2 sales, no one gives a f--- about Marshall Mathers in 2013 or 2014 or 2015. Being the highest selling artist doesn't magically make all your albums sell 1m+. you are r-----ed. The projection isn't like if he dropped out of the blue r-----, its what they project a promoted product would sell. And Eminem's sales are relevent because if he can't go plat in a week, Kendrick can't either yet unless he does a legendary marketing scheme. You are literally acting mentally challenged.

Not trying to start anything but I don't think you realize how much the music industry has changed since the days when Lil Wayne and Eminem regularly did 1M+ first week, and how impossible it is for ANY album to go platinum first week anymore. The only reason Taylor Swift was able to buck the trend and sell over a million first week (the highest first week sales of ANY album since 2002) is because she's literally the most popular artist in the world and had absolutely everything going perfectly for her leading up to the release, with a hugely popular single and nonstop promotion that was unavoidable. There's a very good chance there will never be another album that does 1M first week. It has nothing to do with how great Kendrick is, I just don't see it happening with the way the industry works today. Read the Forbes article man, everything in there is true.

sorry man but if detox ever drops it will sell a mill. Pretty sure views from the 6 will also sell a mill. rihannas new album will do really good numbers. Kanye might even sell a mill. C5 most likely not but who knows. adele will definitely sell a mill. Kendrick can sell a mill he has done like no promotion for his album yet so we can't really judge anything yet. All i know is that if he does perform at the grammys than its going to be on. Everyone here on this website is waiting for the flood my dude. When that flood starts you will see.
