I don't know some of my fondest memories of my youth involve opening CDs and listening to them for the first time. Valentine's Day in 1996 when I was 10 and my father brought me home All Eyez On Me as well as September 11, 2001 when I was 15 I skipped class to listen to The Blueprint and watch 9/11 are two of my GOAT memories.

tbh i dont think iver ever opened a CD. ever since i was young i was capable of downloading everything so thats what i did lol. even with games, movies etc same story. i know its not good but thats the truth

this is from my SL tbt review...my thoughts on it now would obviously be more refined, but i think it's important to see the impact it had when gkmc first dropped.

i feel like you and others trying to get into in retrospect aren't giving the context enough credit. i know it's impossible to go back in time and make yourself like it then, but when you listen to it now, you have to realize how gkmc's sound compares to section.80's and how TPAB is a new beast entirely. It grabs elemnts from both and builds on them, so your initial inlination is to call it "light years better" than the best tracks on GKMC, but gkmc has it's own backstory, atmosphere, context, etc that you need to keep in mind.
