    Well, it actually is less painful. Still a lot of inner ear pressure though, I can feel my ears popping.

    I have a bunch of notes and I've been talking in depth with some of my friends about it, but I haven't started actually writing it yet. I'm going out of town next weekend so it will be up by the end of the week unless something drastic happens.

    i get what he's saying though...there aren't really any skits in this album forcing you to follow an overarching storyline.

    it definitely works A LOT better front to back (the sequencing is flawless), and thats how it should be played, but i dont think anything really stops you from putting this album on shuffle.

    then again, at this point, i can put GKMC on shuffle as well so idk what im talking about here.

    Although I 100% advocate listening to albums front to back, I personally never have had a problem with listening to a "concept" album out of order either. a good song is a good song

    Well, I think it's safe to say nobody limited Kendrick's creative control...but they should've

    Album is alright. I think there's some really great ideas here but it could've used some trimming.

    By going a totally different direction Kendrick made the smartest move possible. This will undoubtedly get better with age.

    at first i thought this was an album taking stock of black america. the more i think about it i think its about reconciling ones past with the present. for black americans, that history just happens with great institutional injustice

    it's a backdrop against which Kendrick then takes stock of his own evolution, which interplays with that history of black america (thematically, and production-wise..)

    The ending of "mortal man" is crucial to appreciating and understanding this album. More importantly, it's crucial to society in general.
