To be fair, Narsh wasn't very big on "I" and he was "The Blacker the Berry's" biggest critic when it first came out which he got a lot of s--- for.

You don't think the "wash yo a---" bit is corny? Like, I think there's a lot of the song that gets into contrived/corny territory but that's easily the worst offender.

I'd rather ask you why you think it's corny to be honest...would be much more interesting than me saying "well because it doesnt feel like that to me, and no one in my group of friends minds singing it (as far as I can tell)" lmao

but I didn't like a lot of it until like 4th or 5th listens, or does that not count, id love to know the rules haha

obviously there was a high chance I'd like an album from one of my favorite rappers -- but that only becomes a problem if I can't articulate why I do, or why it's good. I've done my fair share of both already -- the ones critiquing this album haven't really tbh. and that's worse than being "predictable"

I also disliked i, and didn't even think TBTB was too great (aside from a few parts). And there are plenty more examples, for various artists, where my opinion was just that -- my opinion. Something I feel, and defend clearly/articulately. Not "predictable" or "unpredictable" -- that doesn't even really matter.

also, people like to call something out when the example is readily available (case in point: me being "predictable" and consequently liking this album), but if I go back and list a whole bunch of things i didnt have a "predictable" opinion for, I already lost lol

Album was a chore to sit through. Felt like their whole agenda was to make it feel like the next great West Coast rap album. Very forced.

Great marketing move for Dr Dre.

No I get it for sure. One of the reasons section.80 holds up to GKMC is how interesting it is sonically. The latter is more traditional/straightforward
