    lol I'm just being snide, nocan seems like a great guy and his article is a perfectly valid justification for not being interested in the battle scene anymore (although I didn't like his tone at times -- and the fact that he wasn't making it clear that he was talking mainly about HIS era of battling, which is pretty removed from the modern era)

    I'm also a nerd and watch 16 mins of battles about every hour im awake


    Nocando would be incredible if he stepped back in.

    There's freedom to do WHATEVER you want in battes now. He'd be refreshing, he'd be allowed to be cerebral, and he could attack the lingering effects of homophobia and mysongy in the scene from withi

    Nah, I think it's more important to have a well thought out contrarian peice out now, amidst the ludicrous hype, than anything else

    soemthing more than a moronic 16 year old or whatver sitting in front of a camera, trying to bite fantano.

    But you're obviously hesitant to do so. You even said you had various outlets you could've done this through if you wished

    Some thoughts on the album after several listens:

    - Love the direction Kendrick went with the production; the funk, soul, jazz, r&b influences create a great instrumental vibe throughout
    - I think people get too caught up in the album's narrative, and in turn overrate some of the music itself
    - How Much A Dollar Cost is the absolute high point for me, everything about it is perfect
    - Low point is "u". It's a clever concept but at the end of the day I want my music to sound good, and I find the crying voice unbearable
    - I do enjoy King Kunta but I'm not a fan of the female backing vocals. Enjoyable song otherwise.
    - Song that has grown on me the most is Complexion, another album highlight for me
    - Really feeling These Walls and Wesley's Theory
    - The hook on Hood Politics already annoys me and I don't like Kendrick's vocal inflection on the track.
    - Don't like the hook on Institutionalized (it's good melodically, but lyrically bad)
    - I prefer the original version of "i", though I never liked it much anyway
    - For Free? interlude is s---, For Sale interlude is great
    - Alright is just a bland, forgettable song in my opinion.
    - Blacker the Berry, Momma, and You Ain't Gotta Lie are all just kinda there. Don't love or hate either song.
    - Mortal Man is a solid closing track. Still mixed on the 2pac "interview". Though, if it gets more people interested in his music that's a good thing.
