I know what Kendrick's meaning now in Mortal Man when he says, "when s--- hits the fan, is you still a fan"

He's saying, no matter how f----- up your life has reached or no matter how bad your situation gets, are you still a believer of God?

Many people often lose faith once something tragic happens in their life. Kendrick has mentioned these thoughts before in the song "Faith" off the Kendrick Lamar EP:

But what I do know, is that He's real and He lives forever
So the next time you feel like your world's about to end
I hope you studied because He's testing your faith again

Of course the bridge on Mortal Man could have multiple meanings, but this is just my interpretation.
