Hood Politics, King Kunta, and u. All three are great

next few would probably be How Much a Dollar Cost, Wesley's Theory, The Blacker the Berry, and Institutionalized

still have some big problems with the 2Pac interview, the s-----y new i, some lyrical choices (jesus he can be heavy handed sometimes...the Lucy stuff and the homeless-man-as-God is high school-level poetry) and 3 songs that I don't like at all yet (For Sale, Momma, and Complexion) but I'm not writing them off, they may still grow

So overall I think this is definitely a good album but I don't rank it above GKMC and I don't see that changing

A lot of people I've talked to about this album aren't enjoying it as much as me or the critics. Even had a few friends knock the production. They said they liked GKMC better, which is fair, but I think they have yet to get the full potential out of this album. I'll update in a few months after I force them to keep listening it to it.

I really wish he kept the 3rd verse in I. Also I would have loved a Jay Rock verse on TBTB. Yeah like others Momma is my least favourite song.

Also I wish they had the speech just in Mortal Man not in the other songs before that. Other than that the album is really great imo.

Still have no god d--- idea how anyone could think the new version of "i" is s-----y...did you watch the SNL performance when it first happened?

Also whats there not to like about Momma? I thought the rapping was great, and the "west west west" part is soooo goood @BigCountry im askin u too, i love the track. more than how much a dollar cost probably

Same with Alright..it's like the most normal Kendrick song on here. And he absolutely destroy that second verse. It's a good follow up to "u"

well for me, Momma just cant click, after I saw all the positive things people were saying about Momma I went back and listened 5 more times. I dont know its not a bad song by any means and it still is in line with the content on the album, but something about it just bores me compared to the other songs on the album idk

I think if "Alright" had other name like, i dont know, "Rights And Wrongs" or "War On The Streets" the people would appreciate more the track.

No I didn't watch the SNL version but I think it's significantly worse. I think the female background vocals lend it a sheen of 80s cheese that it doesn't wear well, at all. And Kendrick seems to be stretching his vocal performance in a very forced way, the high-pitched "lookin at MEEE what do you SEEE" drives me nuts. I get the sense that he felt that due to the lukewarm response when it was released, he had to alter it in some way. He didn't. It's a shame because I think it would've worked quite well in context in its original form.

Idk Momma just hasn't clicked with me, I'll pay it more attention on next listen because I've heard a lot of good things about it. I just didn't particularly enjoy it on any of my listens so far

Alright just feels like the standard boilerplate Pharrell contribution where he isn't really trying

Yeah hmv here in Canada has it as 9.99. I went to pick it up this week but store said because of the leak they didn't get the shipments. But will be there this upcoming week.

King Kunta's growing on me quite a bit and I think Snoop's bit on Institutionalized might be the best thing on the album (not a huge fan of the overall song tho).

Agreed 100% on Alright and I. Seriously don't understand how anyone likes the new version of I. It's garbage.
