Listened to a few tracks from gkmc today, i dunno Man im still rocking with that album tbh

I still haven't really stated my opinion on to.p---- a butterfly n i dont want to yet, but i can't really see it being better in my eyes. I respect the skill no doubt but gkmc is just a perfect balance of everythin, from.production to concept to reply value etc. Its not necessarily better or worst but i prefer gkmc so far.

Well a lot of my enjoyment for i is derived from how crazy it was watching him change it up for his SNL performance. and then when the album dropped I didn't know what to expect when I got to i and lo and behold the context of a "live performance" fits perfectly in context. It feels like the self hating angst of like u and TBTB but spun into defiant self love. And I love the meeeeeee, seeeeeee, poliiiiiiiiiceeeeee, s--- hahah

And seeing as how it's him returning home etc in the album, I think this version of i has always existed, and that he released the other one on purpose (can't push a version that literally gets overwhelmed by the skit its leading up to)

Both are good, but original feels cheesy to me while the album one is fire haha

As for Alright, I didn't really care about pharells contributions, i just love the energy. Even tho it makes sense followig "u" it's kind of inconsequential to be honest, but I still love his 2nd verse and the overall vibe.

My friend said this yesterday and I kind of agree with him: over time, GKMC may be looked at as the odd one out. Becuase, even tho TPAB is its own beast, it really does seem like natural progression sonically and thematically from section.80....

I have a feeling kendrick planned for this though . This album is just straight up 100% hip hop, like really in a lane of its own and just encapsulates the pinnacle of skill within hip hop music. It has everything. As koolo said it'll set a certain standard which will be referenced, as gkmc also will, but both albums for different reasons.

Kendrick is really making substantial power moves. Whether or not I prefer it i can see the bigger picture and i respect it.
