    the tupac skit is a cool concept but you're tripping if you don't think it could have had a more natural delivery. it doesn't really sound like a conversation to me, does it to you?

    btw this is coming from the perspective of someone who likes the album and the skit itself so don't waste your time writing a thoughtful response cause you'd be wasting it on someone who probably agrees with 95% of what you would say. just answer the question above.

    Yeah, I changed my usage of the word a few posts back. idk though, if i remember at one pt your contempt for the album involved kendrick being a misogynist (and something about respectability politics --so dicey) -- as i texted u (not that u responded #narsh) thats such an arbitrary reason to discredit an album... for examples like that, it feels like youre rly digging in on why u dislike the album, ur firm in your belief its bad and entrenched. thats v contrary to me -- you're closing your mind off to an extent

    and to be sure, i like the album alot less than i did -- i suggest u review my podcast i did today on the subject

    well to be clear my uneasiness about kendrick's treatment of women hasn't made it into my reviews of either of his records, because i DO think it's an arbitrary reason to discredit an album. so i don't use it. it makes me uncomfortable but it's not a knock against his creative work.

    He's got talent, don't get me wrong. One of trap and drill's best. But I'm not trying to hear that boo boo s--- when kendrick releases a new album.

    he has put out two major label albums and each has a woman as a succubus/the devil. it doesn't detract from either record. it just makes me feel weird on a personal level.

    I'm sure I'm in the minority by the looks of this thread, but in my opinion, GKMC > TPAB.

    TBAP is deeper at times, but I don't get the same emotion and energy that GKMC.

    There is no track on TPAB that can match up to M.A.A.D City , Money Trees or Swimming Pools in my opinion.

    Fair enough :manny: I think there's more of an argument for Swimming Pools being worse than a few songs on TPAB, but m.A.A.d City and Money Trees are GOAT. For me, I get more out of TPAB than I do GKMC because I'm not as interested in his life story as I am in the issues he talks about in TPAB.
