I agree. I was excited to hear about this because I've never seen Kendrick. I hope to hear a good mix of all his stuff, but really interested to see how this new sound shakes out live

Sure his production got better, that's his best attribute in my opinion. But his lyrics, content, and concepts took a stroll down hill. That's subjective but I'm not alone on this one. Anyway, I don't want to derail this into a Kanye discussion, so back to Kendrick.

I'm saying that you're an idiot if you think that Yeezus represents him simplifying his lyrics to appeal to a more commercial audience and sell more records

Yeah true I'd probably commit suicide because I dont do anything else but listen to Kanye, even gave up my job. But I'm sure Yeezus will deliver.

These Walls and Institutionalized are my least favorite songs. Still can't seem to get into them

I'm not sure if that makes me an idiot. After listening to a few of Kanye's interviews a while back, it's not idiotic to suggest that he clearly believes sales numbers equate to overall success, as most artists in his category do. Tell me that casual listeners haven't gotten dumber since 2008.

What will sell more in 2015:
    All Day or Conscious Kanye?

Yeah he grows, as everyone does but I find it a lot better than his cliche lyrics today.

You can't make generalizations about someone based on their opinions on one line in a song. Sorry but that's not how it works.

Both times I saw him, the only non-GKMC stuff he played were p---- & Patron and ADHD. Well, he did his f---in' Problems verse too, but that was GKMC-era. I'm sure he'll have a balance of TPAB/GKMC stuff, but I wouldn't expect much from section.80...though I'd love to be proven wrong. I'm seeing him at Bonnaroo this year so I guess I'll see!

I still kick myself for not seeing him when I had the chance right after s.80 came out.

    That's not what I said,
    I said what I said.

I'm entitled to an opinion, just as you are by calling me an idiot.

Find me some lyrics from that album which are inspirational and not narccisist that give the kids a good message.

Pretentious bullcrap. Also lmao that Kendrick allegedly said his album would be "taught in class". A lot of the praise of the album hinges on it so-called "lyrical denseness" or as you say "thought out lyrics". Why is this an important indicator (and a vague one at that, so it seems arbitrarily as well) all of a sudden? I've done a PhD, you won't hear me making a boring a--- album about it. Especially if that means resorting to childish lines like the one about the "rebloodincans" and "democrips" or whatever it was. That line might be even worse than Eminem's "Stomp, push, shove, mush, f--- Bush, until they bring our troops home" or "No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on our own soil".

Kanye's lyrics above might seem simple, they are essential to the nature of the Yeezus album. More complex lyrics does not equate higher quality, I believe the opposite is true actually. The more you think your ideas through, the better you are able to convey your message in relatively simple words.

I think we're just going to go with idiot here. off topic either way, but sometimes calling someone an idiot is more a fact than an opinion

You are right, maybe I just haven't understood Yeezus completely yet.

As to the Rebloodicans and Democrips line; that was taken from Jesse Ventura's book with the same two words in the title.
