It's a vicious cycle, because I sometimes use your posts to learn how to properly form a sentence. You ain't gonna be a teacher m8.

So I like Mortal Man a lot as a standalone song. The hook is a bit too lazy for me...and I dont know if I agree with the overall sentiment (maybe, you know, touching kids is a good reason to turn your back against someone you used to place on a pedestal), but i get its points about character assassination and shyt in general.

it's just still definitely unnecessary as an album closer (even though it works), the actual song is 12 f--king minutes, and has the skit (which I actually like, even though I think it's gimmicky/not necessary).

so as far as the album goes, Mortal Man is definitely one of my least favorite joints.

edit: the "its gone be murder. nat turner..." bit of tupac's interview is great tho. pretty chilling

lol I read them, and I love the ending to "i" as I've already stated, but Mortal Man is the perfect ending. First of all, he explains what the album means, which is kind of needed. I really don't want everyone and their mother coming up with stupid explanations of the title, so I think by explicitly elaborating on his words it makes the album accessible enough without it losing too much of it's mystique.

I know you dislike the Pac interview, but I really don't know how you could. I'm still in shock that he managed to chop together such a cohesive dialog. That interview works so well with what's going on today as well, I mean, it's actually beautifully crafted.

The fact that he's talking to his idol is also really touching, and quite frankly, intelligent. It's the opposite of corny. This wasn't a gimmick, but instead an awesome way to express what Kendrick views as a "butterfly". Pac is a butterfly in the context of the album, and Kendrick (as seen in interviews) has always aspired to that level.
