This is the worst diss track I've ever heard in hip-hop history. This s--- is unlistenable. -

It's crazy the difference in how Drake treats teenage girls and how he treats teenage boys.
With teenage girls... he takes them to dinner.... he texts them all night.... he gives them advice for their love life... he kisses them and carrases their breast.
With teenage boys... he steals their music... brags about having them murdered.Winterindecember, pHiLLip fARkLe, Him Shadow and 4 others like this. -

I don't doubt that Kendrick is more well-liked within hip-hop, but this beef was viewed on a worldwide stage. It wasn't just rap nerds like us tuning in and awaiting the back and forth like Pac vs BIG or Jay vs Nas. This was the first time two rappers of this level of fame/popularity went at it during the age of social media. You have people paying attention who have heard much more Drake than they have Kendrick simply by nature of the radio and rap caviar existing. It's perhaps the only moment I've ever experienced outside of like COVID/US presidential elections where it felt like twitter was one singular place rather than a bunch of distinct communities because everyone was talking about it. It wasn't just rap fans judging who was winning.
Drake lost because he was outmaneuvered and Kendrick had better diss tracks overall (and Heart Pt 6 flopped), even if Push Ups and Family Matters are both great diss tracks that will also go down in the diss track pantheon. I don't think anyone is discrediting those tracks besides the most hardcore kendrick stans. it's irrelevant whether or not he was disadvantaged in a vacuum because he would have lost in either scenario lol
If it was just that alone I'd agree with you. But there's a pattern of behavior that's hard to ignore. Too much smoke for me not to think there's probably some sort of fire.pluto✰, rapmusik, Ordinary Joel and 4 others like this. -

Imagine if you had a friend who who seemed pretty down to earth and an okay guy... if anything he was just too into talking about his emotions and kinda girl crazy.
Then he got into hip hop.... he would awkwardly say the n-word with the hard R when he was trying to fit in.
Then all the sudden he is trying to be a tough guy.... which you don't take too seriously since he was never gangster before and now he is in his 30s.
Then you find out his texting 14 year old girls.
Then you find out he has a kid he never told you about.... in fact no one knew about his child.
Then he starts constantly hinting that he killed a kid who was 10 years younger than him... just for street cred and to hurt the kid's people.
Then he gets a Brazilian Butt Lift.
What would you guys think about a dude like that?Last edited: May 17, 2024Ordinary Joel, DKC, BornSinner and 4 others like this. -

You guys are patting yourselves on the back in this bubble thinking that you’re the only adults in the room as usual.
Everyone in this thread understands & accepts that the entertainment industry exists & are well aware of the dynamics that go into it. They can also see that because of these dynamics, predators involve themselves in this industry because it allows those societal norms to be altered without as much as a raised eyebrow. Which is exactly why we see plentiful examples of sexual abuse & misconduct that come to light much further down the road. It’s also much more insidious because there’s not just age-related dynamics involved here, but also extreme power dynamics within the structures of these industries.
You guys are talking like Hollywood & the entertainment industry in general are not full of sexual deviants. It’s been known, this behaviour has existed since its inception.Last edited: May 17, 2024Ordinary Joel, DKC, Rodamon and 4 others like this. -
