This guy is from Vegas and raps non-explicit lyrics to modern beats. Your son will love him.

A bit of both really. She'll know whatever he comes back with came from me and she'll be ok with that. At the same time neither of us want him reciting lines from Ten Crack Commandments while he's in school or something. Just looking to give him a good base to start on so, if the art form interests him, I can build on it as he matures a bit.

He can like what he likes, that's no issue. What he likes, however, is an evolution of what I like so, as he wasn't fortunate enough to experience it, I'm giving him the opportunity to do so. He might like it, he might not, either way's fine with me. What's not fine with me is him not having the chance to understand where what he likes comes from. Much in the same way as, if he was into modern rock, I'd introduce him to the likes of Queen and Hendrix.

There's this song called Kim by Eminem - that's probably a good start.

Where did I say I was dismissing what he likes? I'm not unstable enough to dismiss someone's personal taste in music, I'm merely giving him the opportunity to expand on what he likes.

You're either far too young to remember the greatest era of the genre, and consequently have crafted your opinion based on your apparent need to argue... possibly just some teenage angst working its way loose... or you're just too simple to grasp an extremely basic concept.

    I hope it's the former.

couldn't disagree with you more. Desiigner is hip hop. There's no thinking about it, he's a hip hop artist. Hip hop is multifaceted, its diverse. I love Mos Def and Nas and Tribe but i cant for the life of me understand why you'd want to discredit the modern artists. You're missing out on so much great music.

So not liking something, because it's not to my personal taste, is dismissing it? You, sir, are a moron.

That's a lot of unnecessary aggression, you should probably talk to someone about that before you hurt a loved one. On topic though, are you trying to say that albums such as Liquid Swords, Death Certificate, Illmatic are no longer relevant to the genre? Does music automatically lose its merit when something new gets released? That's a very narrow view to have. I kinda feel bad for you.
