Dec 14, 2017 it's based on wikipedia, which also says every other unconfirmed song is ADK lol not so sure if he produced that one. but I'd be shocked
Dec 14, 2017 Couldn’t agree any more koolo. At first I was very displeased but keep going through the album and really liking most it. Got some good stuff on here. s---, even when WoW comes on I actually like it now. Seriously didn’t like that song at all. Maybe it’s the tone of the album that changed my perspective. Definitely not a disaster of an album.
Dec 14, 2017 I’m with Koolo here, it’s growing on me. The fact that this album is a “grower” is great, but it’s also disappointing to me in a sense. (Been listening to Eminem since 1999). Classic Eminem albums didn’t need to grow on me - I remember it like it was just yesterday, they were instant classics to me (love at first sight, if you will.) This album is great, it just saddens me that it had to (and likely will continue to) grow on me. It’s kind of like deciding to date a certain female. You want the one that just strikes you in awe from the get-go. Not the female that “ehh, she’s growing on me.” That’s not exactly a compliment, if that makes sense, but it’s also great that it CAN grow from there. What makes me happy is the fact that Eminem’s skill has not diminished. His lyricism, wordplay, content, concepts - they’re all there, and impressive. It’s just Rubin that’s holding him back, his beat selection, and his features - but that could be easily tweak-able, so there’s hope. Beat selection being the biggest thing he’s gotta work on - on the first listen, I didn’t so much as tap my foot once. The inverse is true for Relapse - the lyrics weren’t “classic”, but the beats sold the album for me, and made it work.
Dec 14, 2017 I think I'd take Castle over GTC, Deja Vu would be tough but today I think Castle beats that out too. The concept of rewinding to Castle on Arose is such a GOAT move imo
Dec 14, 2017 The only thing worth discussing about this album is whether or not Castle and Arose were recorded in the last 5 years. It's a f---ing important question.
Dec 14, 2017 I'll love to differ here, he did all those styles because he wanted a safe sound and wanted something for all of his fans. He used to be daring back in the days, when he brought a complete different perspective to the rap music and switched up his styles every album despite the success, now that's what being daring really is. The album is trash to me still, and thoughI did see a lot of potential here, the overall output was an incoherent mess. Em has the potential, it's just he hasn't tapped in it a long time
Dec 14, 2017 Also, I don't think a lot of things said on Castle / Arose are just rehashed recovery sentiments. A lot of it is new, his feelings on not being able to be at Hailies graduation, walking her down the aisle etc These songs are so good
Dec 14, 2017 some of the details Eminem said on them feels like he wrote them very long a--- time ago
Dec 14, 2017 I dont care how old they are, they're amazing. I don't see that opinion changing. I've been playing these two songs so much, Revival is better than MMLP2 because of these two songs
